Earlier this week I finished up with a Waltham "Admiral Benson" Trench Watch, turned out pretty good, pleased with the results. It's the 1st watch pictured, BIG size 0s with a 10k yellow gold filled case with the original factory crown.An "Admiral Benson" Trench Watch could have a number of different movements like Elgin, Illinois, Waltham or some Swiss, it was a jobber case.The case was named "Admiral Benson" by the Illinois Watch Case Company in September of 1917.But, these cases started showing up in Spring of 1917.Here is the wiki link to Admiral Benson if you wish to know more about him: William S. What to get??
I have just done my tax return and will be getting some money back!! So of course the first thing that I thought was "great - a new watch!" :DSo now I'm not sure what to get. I kind of feel like just having fun with it. I have my big purchase already lined up for next year (an Omega PO at the end of the year), and it's not enough to go for another major purchase.My thoughts so far are:The Lum-Tec LUMzillaThis is a big watch, but according to a review I've seen it wears pretty well. Also I love the lume! I kind of like the reverse lume model, it would light up a room! But the standard looks good too.NFW AutopilotJohn did a review of this one, and I really like the look, rugged and bold.Orient Blue MakoWhat can I say, I love dive watches. Also I would like a blue faced diver and I'm not sure the Longines Hydroconquest blue one does it for me. Another option (for the futrure) is the Omega electric blue, but the Orient seems like a lot watch for the money.The LUMEzilla is probably stretch
