Roger Dubuis EasyDiver Blackswan Watch
As a supplement to the new for 2010 EasyDiver collection (that I wrote about here), Roger Dubuis has released a limited edition EasyDiver Black Swan watch you see before you. These are all revisions of years of EasyDiver watches and/or other sport models from Roger Dubuis - most have been good, all have been interesting.The Black Swan, as it is called, is named as such for use of a black ceramic bezel. While ceramic bezels are no longer particularly uncommon, this one is interesting given how complex the shape is. It is still not nearly as easy to cut ceramic as it is metal. For instance, how many square ceramic cases have you seen? While I don't know the particular ins and outs of how the bezel was made, I would guess it is significantly more complex than just a ring-shaped ceramic bezel. Just picked this newly released solar Seiko. No it is not to everyone's taste. Very similar to the Seiko Windward series, but with a case diameter increase and solar technology upgrade.Very flashy, with high polish braided metal links, and high polish gold IP highlights.The watch rather wide, 45mm including crown from East to West. Caliber V172.Has a taupe dial, with jet black subdials, and gold hands and markers.Links are now using friction pins instead of pin and collars.Standard Seiko safety lock clasp.Thanks for looking!and my attempt at a lume shot.

New arrival just in time for my daughter's weddingLast Friday, the day before by daughter's wedding, I had the opportunity to buy a new IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar for this very special occasion in my family. I had been expecting to get a WG Perpetual Calendar, but this RG one became available at my AD and I jumped on it to wear to the wedding and the reception. I am so happy with the two new additions to my family. My new son-in-law and my new IWC.This is a quick couple of shots of this beauty. More photos will follow as I get the professional shots from the wedding. The Perpetual Calendar is a very special watch. All functions are controlled from the crown and it will only miss one moon phase in the next 577.5 years, not that I or my great-great-great grandchildren will know. The watch has many complications: day, date, month, four-digit year display, and the moon phases as well as a power reserve display and small seconds hand. This watch has a 7 day power reserve. It utilizes

I've been a lurker here for a while and finally decided to join in the fun.I was a collector of mostly Russian watches but then my tasted turned so here I am.I just purchased my first "quality" watch and absolutely love it. The watch is a Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Chronometer. I spent several weeks looking at different watches and Ulysse's have really caught my eye. New Shoes for 2 Classic Omegas (pics!)
I've realized that straps are much more comfortable for me and I've used the arrival of the winter months as an excuse to buy two straps for my Omegas (Railmaster and 3570.50). I went with a dark brown Dunthorp Aviator Crocodile for the Railmaster and a Hirsch Carbon for the Speedy (a great combo IMHO). Also picked up a few OEM buckles that really seal the deal for me...What do you think?
