Incoming 60s diver
I'm a push-over for these 1960s stainless case "divers" with black dials.I particularly like them with matte black, but can't seem to pass any up.Here's the one I picked up today.Got it home cleaned the dirt off, installed the strap, now I'm wearing it:38mm x 47mm x 19mm strap, all stainless Lucien Perreaux (chic!)Automatic wind 17j calendar...what kind of mvt is this?

JLC refurbishing
If any of you remember, I sent a JLC reference #2285 in for refurbishing. I just got the estimate back and it's almost exactly where I thought: $1225 including shipping. Considering this poor thing was literally minutes away from the being melted down and the movement being cannibalized, it's a fair price. Also, if you take into account the price of a new 18K M.U.T. it's a real bargain! I also asked about a few options: an 18K logo buckle is $620 and a matte black croc strap with the JLC logo is $310. So I'll throw some things out there and see what you think.1) Since they're redoing the dial, should I keep the crosshairs or not? Some of the watches had them, some didn't from this time. Normally I really like crosshair dials, but it dates the watch to that period during the 50's and 60's. The plain dial would be timeless, and it would be tough to tell it from a new version. Hey, even though it's done at the factory it's still a redial so I'm kind of leaning to the non-crosshai

Hi Folks,I love the passion of the AP forum and look forward to having one myself soon. I'm trying to decide between 15400 and the diver. I am a casual dresser and sporty person. My feeling is that the 15400 is classic and a lifetime watch. I do however like the heft and look of the diver greatly. I'm caught up in the mindset of do I get what I like more now or get what I think is a forever piece. (That is not to say the Diver cant be a forever piece also though). I can't get them both as I'm sure many would like to suggest.My current collection is 116610 LV, 216570 polar, patek 5711 blue, PAM 359. I have included some snaps from an AD visit recently.cheersMichael

After many long years, months and days I finally managed to track down a complete and more importantly mint condition Alaska Project Limited Edition Speedmaster. Dial size versus watch case size
I tried to look this up from past posts but didn¡¯t find an answer is it true that the dial size of the DD2 and the dial size of the DD40 Are actually the same exact size?In other words interchangeable with each other¡¯s cases?So the 39 mm Rolex DD masterpieces are probably the same size dial as the 36Day date but just with the 39 mm case?
