Panerai PAM00522 wrist watches news:
Hello,I'm a real newbie on this forum since today. I like vintage watches, being mechanical or Quartz (partially mechanical). I recenlty found a watch on eBay that I found interesting but I cannot explain why. Its shape, blue dial, band connection (US-patented I found out) to the case and band itself. Is there anyone who recognizes this one and could give me some more background? I stressed Google but cannot find anything. Opening the back it states inside:Longines WittnauerPA 6103 0168SwissInside is a little round 5 jewel Quartz movementThe band at the back of the buckle states:Kestenmade1/40-10K.R.G.R. Made in USAStainless Steel BackThanks in advance.I've attached some photo's$(KGrHqIOKjIE3uGvR)lkBN7j7k)+-Q~~_3[1].jpg$(KGrHqQOKpEE25vTwFQ0BN7j7lDHDw~~_3[1].jpg$(KGrHqV,!lcE3H)66KcgBN7j7k5Vt!~~_3[1].jpg$(KGrHqZ,!lQE3Hw50kcRBN7j7knmmQ~~_3[1].jpg
OMG! Did Charlie Sheen really lose his 5970???The 5970 is a grail that I'll never be able to afford, so it's just hard for me to imagine someone losing one.
So I posted a thread a few days ago to see if I can get some information on this Patek, some said it might be real some said it's fake.So I took it to a service center and had the watch opened up (amazing how the movement looks, makes a big impression) and it's a real Patek which makes me very happy. They told me the watch needs a service and told me they would get me the ref# and a full description and model history for around 1000pln (350usd). Is that a fair price? The gentleman at the service center didn't want to tell me much about the watch until I handed over some money, but he said he knows Pateks fairly well and he told me is very old and a rare model. He was really impressed with the craftsmanship of the gold watch strap as well.He also told me that selling a watch like this could be tricky, if you want to get top dollar you need all the information you can get and put it out where collectors of such watches would be looking.Any tips on how to do this? Thanks!Rob

Hi guysI have recently sold most of my watches and have been left with a Rolex Sea Dweller 116600, a TAG Microtimer (kept for sentimental reasons) and a G-Shock Riseman Black.I wear the SD for almost everything and it is already showing some signs of wear; I'm quite happy to have a few knocks and bumps, after all, some of the appeal of Rolex Sports watches is that unlike other premium watches, they look better with a few battle scars. The TAG gets worn once in a blue moon just because I think it should now and again.I wear the G-Shock for really heavy duty stuff and sports.I wanted to add a watch that could be worn (a) when an understated classic is required and a Rolex may be a bit bling and (b) when there is a chance it will get lost, stolen or severely damaged (i.e. when drinking, holidaying, and hunting). The Speedy is a classic in my opinion and whilst the Speedy Reduced is not very popular amongst the WIS community as it's not the Moonwatch, it fits my wrist perfectly and ticks al
