- Best buy for the value with reliability. Large watch face for easy ready and very rugged looking for men. Lighterd dial with separate tide and temperature dials. Stainless steel body and wrist band. Can be worn under water and shower. This watch says, you are in control.

TAG Heuer CAV5115.BA0902 wrist watches news:
I have been a bit busy lately, so never got around to doing a proper introduction to my latest addition - a Sinn 857.I had seen this pop up from time to time in the daily wrist thread and elsewhere and really liked the tool-like functional look of it. I also like a GMT watch, which also added to my desire. I had originally liked it on the strap, but soon found I preferred the bracelet. The watch is made with tegimented steel, a process Sinn uses that makes it much harder than stainless; it also gives it a darker looking tint. The watch is very solid and well made. It really feels bulletproof without feeling like it weighs a ton. Everything works with good German precision, the bezel, crown etc. I feel very confident in using the watch.I might still get the strap for it, just to give me some options, but am loving it just the way it is.
I got a PM from Cary Hurt the other day. He said he had an NOS dial that matched the old, scratched, grubby one on the 24h Elgin 729 I've shown here previously. He sent it out the next day, for no charge, and even threw in an NOS Elgin waterproof crown! Here's the before picture:And here it is, after...It's so much better, now I'm no longer ashamed to wear it! Of course, since it's a 24 hour dial, it's still pretty confusing. That time isn't 6:15, it's 1:15 PM - it'll mess you up. Of course, now it needs a new crystal, so you can see it more clearly!THANKS CARY!!
I had arranged to meet a guy to collect a Seiko from him and he had told me that he would bring along a Certina with a turtle on the back, had not really got a clue what to expect and I did a little reading up on the web before he came. So here it is a Certina DS-2 with a lovely turtle caseback, it needs a service and a bit of cleaning, possibly a new crystal but I would imagine that this one could be polished. The movement is a Certina 25-652 26 jewel, the movement runs in every position but stops almost instantly when you place it face up any opinions or advise?
I bought this watch a month ago from a client. Why? Because I like him. AND, I liked the snake-like stainless band. Sort of unusual. It is an Alessi, made in Japan. It has the Japan auto movement without hack, but also a 150 meter water resistance. AND, it is VERY heavy. Lots of steel and heft. I like that. I have found that it has a great hidden deployment, good lume and good time-keeping. So, I thought I would update it. I'm a stainless junky. I took it to my man Sasha to have a sapphire put in. It came back at 2mm thick. Very thick. I think it has a subtle look to it. And, he brushed out all the little scratches from people trying it on and scraping it across the counter. I think it came out very nicely. This is now in my 'nice' watch collection and not in my 'work' collection. I don't know what it is, but this has become one of my favorite watches. I love the heavy feel to it, and now I know it won't scratch. What do you fellas think?
I am surprised at how little fanfare there is for the 6006. I always liked 6000, especially the blue and brown dial variant, but not the small case size. That was taken care of with the introduction of the 6006 which upsized the case to 39mm. My AD put my name on one after Basel last year (actually I was the only one) and it was delivered just before Thanksgiving. For me, the dial is great, coming across as multi-level with all the different finishes. The case is also quite sleek, making it exceptionally comfortable on the wrist. My guess is it one of the least popular new releases given the lack posts about it.
