Basel World 2012: Introducing The Tissot Heritage PR 516
This is a great looking new introduction for BaselWorld 2012 from Tissot.? The Heritage PR516 is a throwback to the PR 516 from the 1960s and 70s, one of Tissot's most favored vintage pieces.? To be specific, the Heritage PR516 is actually an homage to the Tissot Seastar PR 516 GL - and this new piece retains the same dial markings as the original.Sized at 40mm with a sapphire caseback (notice the rotor?) the Heritage PR516 will be available in steel or PVD gold and on either a leather racing strap or a steel big-hole bracelet as seen in the picture.?We don't have word on pricing yet, but it will be between $500 and $1000. ROO Dials no longer machined on a Rosette???
Looking at the dials of the new (2015) 42 mm ROO (Diver, Safari, etc) it is evident that the dials are no longer machined, as depicted on the AP videos. They don't have the dots and concentric lines that are the trademark of carving the tapisserie dial with a Rosette. The new dials are completely smooth, like if they had been stamped. To me, that lost a big part of the craftsmanship experience. Does anyone know why the change?Thanks!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Question about service
I have a speed master date that one of the subdials will not reset to zero. The watch is probably due for service anyway, and I'm probably going to send it to Omega. My question is, I have a non Omega strap on it. Is sending the watch in with a non omega strap as big a deal as doing the same with Rolex? In other words, will they confiscate and keep my strap or is it not as much an issue with them? Pic below for fun.

Anyone know a good restorer (Omega vintage)?
Troops: A friend of mine got burned by a crappy restorer of his 25 year old Sea Master. The restorer was supposed to replace the crystal (only polished it, and not very well.....), was supposed to polish the case (scrathes and nicks everywhere) and to replace the band with a new Omega strap (replaced with a leather strap that has no Omega symbol, and is stamped Made in China. Does anyone have the name of a solid restorer? We're in Eastern Ontario, Canada, but would consider anywhere worldwide if the recommendation is solid. Many thanks all, Chris
