The caliber is placed inside a rectangular case, with the dimensions of 50mm x 44mm x 17mm - length, width and depth indicated respectively. The case is 30-meter water-resistant.

Another Noob Question
Out of curiosity, does anyone here know what Rolex requires of a retailer to become an AD? I used to live in Reno, and there were pawn shops that were Rolex AD's but they never had a tremendous amount of inventory.Can someone shed light on this?

Insane sniping on an Elgin auction.
Hard to believe Ebay sometimes. I was following an auction today for an Elgin 618 similar to the one in Mark's post American Bumper Automatic.I have a 607 movement in the same case.The watch up for auction was running but had a damaged 1 o'clock lug, the outer ring with the red 10 second markers was painted over, and the second hand was missing (possibly along with the tip of the seconds pinion).I bid high ($32) thinking I could use the original crown and the better of the two backs and crystals. A working 618 is unusual enough to have around also. I was sniped in the last 6 secs by a bidder with $44 who was sniped a second later by a pipe collector judging by his bidding history. Maybe it's the economy or the price of gold but does anyone else see the bidding on vintage watches going crazy lately? Has this happened before?Joel
