Apologies that a Hamilton owner is sullying your forum, but I figure you'd tolerate me for this:On the Thursday 12/19/08 edition of the US version of the Jeopardy! gameshow, there was a clue involving Patek Philippe. I'm sorry I don't have all the details, as I was only half-watching as I was running on a treadmill at my gym.The category was something like "Santa's Coming" or "Presents I Want" and the clue was along the lines of requesting a Patek Philippe [certain model], which is a type of this. The contestant correctly answered "What is a watch?"I hope some of you got to see this and can bring better detail.Happy Holidays and hope you get your model(s) as holiday presents.

Mechanical watch accuracy
I am new mechanical watches, and recently acquired two - an Omega Seamaster Aquaterra, and a Swiss Army Divemaster 500 Mechanical.The Omega accuracy is amazing while on my wrist. Over the course of certain weeks, there is no discernable gain/loss (less than 1 second). When I am not wearing it, it goes on an Orbita winder, and it will loose 3-5 seconds per day. It looses a similar amount of time if I leave it stationary (keeping it manually wound, of course).The Divemaster is consistently approximately 8 seconds per day fast while on my wrist, and is less than 1 second per day off while on the Orbita winder or while stationary.In both cases, the watches slow down when not worn. Is this typical, and is this related to motion, postition, temperature (body temperature is higher than room temperature), or something else?I am at peace with this variablity in accuracy. I am an engineer who is intrigued by why things like this happen.Your input is much apprecaited.

New Releases for PCYC - PAM652, PAM653, PAM654
Not sure if you guys have seen these yet but what do you think about the new releases for the Panerai Classic Yacht Challenge? Looks like they took a lot of inspiration from the Radiomir 1940 chrono's from a few years back. The PAM652 is a 47mm Titanium Regatta Flyback while the PAM653 & PAM654 are 44mm Steel Versions with just the Flyback functionality.

Who has flipped a "hot" watch for profit?
I am curious how many on here have bought a watch specifically to sell it right away and make a profit. I do not mean you traded in a watch for less than you paid for cash or for less than you paid towards trade. There is all this talk about people buying a hot model just to sell it instantly but I have never met anyone who has done it. My AD offered me a Daytona and a white steel sky dweller. When I passed I got the look of thanks for not buying to flip.Anyone here buy an ss for the purpose of instantly flipping at profit?
