Arrival
The eagle has landed! My new 2551.80 arrived yesterday morning.Wow! It's hard to believe Omega is retiring this watch with the 1120 movement. Blue is too cool. Anyhow, I resized the bracelet this morning and am wearing it now. I don't have wordsyou guys know the feeling. I took some photos that I'd like to post for all to to see. (As soon as I figure out how to do it!) You all will have to forgive the quality - I borrowed a cheap point and shoot digital. Not very good. (I'd like to get a nice Canon digital, but It seems that Omegas keep getting in the way.) As a side note - my wife loves it too and totally understands. I guess it's the jewelry gene with which women are born. Hey, it works for me. KarlB

"BLACKJACK'S" First European Vacation
Hey guys ! ! !As you all probably know by now me and Tiffany were going to visit with Adam in Spain for the past six days. Well, our travel plans had to be changed. Tiffany works for United Airlines so we get free airfair anywhere in the world we want to go. BUT, we are always at the mercy of available seating on the planes. There were 16 seats still available for the flight to Barcelona when we flew from Chicago to New York but when we got to New York all of the sudden the Barcelona flight was oversold by 17 seats!!! We then tried to jump on the flight to Madrid but that was oversold as well! After that we just ran (literally) from gate to gate trying for Paris, Lisbon and Frankfort but all of these did not have any available seats too. There was only one more flight going to Europe that night, a plane to Amsterdam in the Netherlands and it still had five seats available! So, we jumped on that one. Favorite Watch Under $500?
We all drool over high priced pieces and grails, but what's your favorite real world watch?Here's mine: Swiss Made Invicta 2014 Reissue that cost $349 about three years ago. I like it for the style (though some think it's ugly), the heft and the size. It's slightly larger than the Invicta 9937 series (Rolex Sub homage) and was one of the first true Swiss Made Invicta Pro Divers.I'd tell you my $400 Seiko 6R15 diver is better made, has better lume, better bracelet. Superior all the way around, in fact, but this particular piece just calls my name.

Graduation watch
My dad has asked me what watch I would like for my graduation present this year, I figured the best people to ask would be those who know a lot about watches.Originally I was dead torn between a Submariner and a Breitling Emergency Mission, already had the conversation about the radio and 'improper use' with him and a jeweller. But because of the recession, my dad being pretty hard hit as he is self employed, I think I may ask for something a little less expensive and the obvious answer to me is an Omega..omegawatches/gents/se...hrono/22105200.omegawatches/gents/se...23230465101002Both have their merits. The orange is slightly different plus I could buy the orange rubber strap to wear when on holiday or out on the boat. Though I could see other people finding it to be a little offensive and gaudy, maybe.The black is very conservative and the mesh strap is also a little different but looks very classic.Or is there anything else I am missing.
