TW Steel TW401 wrist watches news:
The features of this Versace watch include scratchproof dome shaped sapphire crystal protection for the dial, scratchproof ceramic case and bracelet, steel crown and pusher with ceramic caps, water resistant, hypo-allergic and lightweight titanium clasp, among other things.
I was at my watchmakers today and he pulled a vintage Explorer he was working on out of the safe. It was an all original orange hand Explorer II 1655. I've never seen a bezel like that. I didn't take any photos because it wasn't my watch and didn't ask for permission. Sam told me it's a bit tough to find all original pieces like this because Rolex frequently put modern hands or dials on them when they serviced them. The guy was offered $20K for it but turned it down for sentimental reasons (I think Sam said it was a gift from his father). This is one of the few times I agree with calling it "patina" instead of dirt. It wasn't cruddy, just evenly aged. I can see why you guys appreciate vintage Rolexes like I'm into Omega & JLC.
NOT. Okay, so it hasn't been discontinued. We need some spice in this forum and here goes:If Omega discontinued the Seamaster and Planet Ocean, what diver watch would you replace it with and why doesn't it meet your standards now? This is gonna be good. Let's have fun with this guys! No bad attitudes or fighting! Smiles and opinions only!
I looked throught the sticky.....can't find it ...or any watch that says Hamilton Illinois ......it was made in 1956, the case back says Illinois, the dial, as you can see, says Hamilton and under that Illinois.....WHen it arrived a couple of days ago, the back was loose, I did take a peek and saw that the movement said "Illinois" and "Swiss"....and looked clean ......but when I snapped the back on, it seems to have wleded itself to the case......I can't get it off .....and it even has a thumbnail thingy .....arggggggggso no movement photos, as I am becoming more and more paranoid about things like scratching the back, can't have that ! anyway, does a Hamilton Illinois watch have a name like the regular Hamiltons ? ...and is this considered a Hamilton ? ...that name does come first ....It runs like a champ, with just a few minutes handling, it ran for more than 36 hours.....the rest of the time it has been sitting on a cabinet.....I think the case is reather interesting looking ....k
anyone familiar with this brand? manufacturer website mentions being around since 1950s...they run mostly automatics, skeleton automatics for around $100-$150 but I dont know if they run chinese or japanese movements...anyone have any experience with the brand? Thanks.
