My first solid gold watch...
Well, it looks like I just pushed my Limes way further into the future, but this was love at first site. This will be my mintiest vintage yet. Seller description and pics for now; with almost 3000 sales and a rating of 99.9%, I keep my fingers crossed!Presented is a very nice example of the solid 14K yellow gold circa 1940's Hamilton "Gilbert" model with a great classically styled case, very nice dial and high grade freshly cleaned movement. The case, which I feel is pretty nice, particularly considering it's a 60+ year old watch, features a neat pseudo hinged lug look and the profile is nice and thin, making for a terrific looking dress watch. It measures 35mm long by 21 1/2mm wide, not including the crown and is marked on the inside "Gilbert Hamilton Watch Company Lancaster Pa. Wadsworth 14K Gold" and "W 14K Gold" on the outside. New Hamilton in the House!
As my collection transforms into somrthing different, I have sold six watches in the last 6 weeks and have funded 3 purchases. The latest of which is better known as the birthplace of the Father of our Country, Mount Vernon.Hamilton first built the Mount Vernon in 1932 and only built 1721 pieces.. INCOMING New beach beater!
It's not the finest example of a watch that's liked for it's horoligical advancements, but it'll serve it's purpose when i'm looking to get out in the ocean. The watch is a little big for me (42mm), but its not as much a fashion statement as it is a tool. I received it in the mail with the battery dead! :mad: but a quick trip to walgreens and some silicone sealant fixed it up nice. I'm gonna have to open it up again to remove the dust from the face, but i'll do it later.Does anyone think i need to go to an AD to re-seal the watch? It's only 100m resistant.Thanks to all for the suggestions, this is to hold me over untill i can get a serious diver (SMP 2220.80 )

Speedmaster pro school
Okay guys, I have finally saved enough coin to start looking for my next watch. I have always wanted a Speedmaster Pro. That said I know very little so lets assume I know nothing. In theory I have no problem with vintage as long as it's in good shape. I am still in my 20's and am far from wealthy but I put back money in retirement each month and my bills are paid so I figure I can treat myself just a bit from time to time. I really like the look of the white dial broad arrow GMT speedmaster and the look of the silver/gray sunburst dial models. So without further ado, please school me on the do's, dont's, pro's and con's of the Speedmaster, it's various movements and models over the years and what I should expect to get and find in the $2k ish USD range.Thanks in advance!!!!!John

Question on 3235 Movement
I just picked up a SD 43 with the 3235 movement. I was winding it this morning and it seemed louder than winding my Sub with the 3135 movement. Has anyone else noticed this?
