I just got finished using a German proxy server to trick Sinn's website into thinking I was viewing it from their homeland. Why did I do this? To get the price of this new 857 collection watch for you. Sinn apparently uses geo-locating to protect their prices from being viewed by potential buyers outside of Germany. Probably because those prices vary from country to country. Nevertheless, I am still going to tell you the prices as that is only fair.To my knowledge Sinn hasn't hard-launched the new 857 and 857 S watch collection yet. Though, the pieces are right up there on their website. These are a more simple version of the existing 857 UTC models which contained a small central GMT hand. What the 857 really is however is an upgraded and larger version of the 657 and 657 S - a watch I proudly own but simply do not wear any longer as it is too small. Finally taken the plunge!
After months of deliberation over what to buy I finally opted yesterday for a Seamaster Aqua Terra Chronograph Co-Axial Chronometer (Don't think I've missed anything!). I had the watch lined up against 2 Brietlings - Super Avenger and Superocean; and Tag Heuer Calibre 17. Choice came down to the Seamaster and the Tag but I didn't take long to pick! I'm absolutely smitten by the watch but I'd appreciate any advice on ownership. This is my first watch over ¡ê500 so this is new territory for me!Managed to negotiate 17.5% off the price which was a bonus, but having to buy the wife a labradoodle in return!

Are complications on non-mechanical watches considered complications?
Hi, I'm new to the forums and to watch-craze in general. I was just taking a gander in the watch boutique at my local mall and noticed quite a few Seikos with the Perpetual Calendar feature going for less than SGD$600 (about US$470). Now I've been doing a fair bit of reading up on the internet and from what I understand a horological complication is a feature on a watch other than the normal time telling and simple date functions. Watches with complications tend to fetch significantly more than equivalent ones without. Now, the Seikos I saw were quartz models. Considering the immense gulf in price between a quartz Seiko Perpetual Calendar and say, a Zenith Annual Calendar, I was thinking perhaps it might be easier to rig up complications on a quartz model? Possibly to the point where complications on a quartz watch are not considered true complications? This is especially so since in my example, the inferior Annual Calendar from Zenith actually costs 20 times more than its superior Per

Jumbo 15202 vs 15400
Seems like the 15400 is gaining popularity amongst the community here from the postings we are seeing of new ownership of this piece and proclamations of love for it.The 15202 Jumbo on the other hand seems to be hiding in the background? Anyone getting or already got this beauty? I was comparing the two at the AP boutique and was encouraged to go for the Jumbo as its more classy and importantly more original if you may pit it that way to the first origins of the royal oak and the 39mm size is the best size for the oak. I wear big watches like panerai but when wearing the oak the 39mm seems perfect size for the oak while the 15400 seems a bit out of proportion like being large for fashion purposes only.What are your thoughts ?
