PPR Becomes the Majority Shareholder of Sowind Group
Sowind Group and PPR jointly announced today the launch of a reserved capital increase of Sowind Group that will be fully subscribed by PPR. PPR will then become the majority shareholder of Sowind with a 50.1 % stake. PPR already owned a 23% share based on a strategic partnership agreement signed in 2008 when Sowind was controlled by Luigi Macaluso, who passed away in October last year. The transaction allows PPR¡¯s Luxury Group to strengthen its presence in the haute horlogerie segment while supporting Sowind Group¡¯s international development. Sowind Group includes Girard-Perregaux and JeanRichard. How my timekeeper became an "Official Timekeeper"
Well after acquiring my Rattrapante stopwatch I decided a new lanyard was needed. The lanyard that accompanied the piece is yellow rope, made in Germany. My neck would become sore after wearing it for a while and it did not really complete the "look". My motto, as my wife knows all too well, is "Everything Or Nothing". I needed something official from Omega. And thus the quest began for an Omega lanyard. I searched Google and Ebay and was about 3 weeks too late for a grey one on Ebay that read "2008 Beijing Olympics" and "Omega Official Timekeeper". It was nice, but I was not drooling over it. What I envisioned was a red lanyard with Omega and their logo in white. When I was posting on TZ I posted a request for information that would help me find one. A couple weeks later TZ member 'omegadude' sent me a PM offering me one he had. Anyone have a two tone black bay?
We don't hear much about the two tone BB's rarely do I recall ever seeing one listed for sale here on the forum either. I can't put my finger on why but here lately they are peaking my interest more and more. I am sure they fall in third place to many behind the black or blue Subs depending on ones tastes. I've never been a huge fan of the blue Sub. Must admit the black two tone Sub is nice but I can't see myself wearing it over my SS Subc. The Black Bay however as similar as it is or isnt has a totally different appeal to me. Anyone else around here feel the same about the TT Black Bays? It might just be next on my list. You can save the; its only gold capped and its only for folks who can't afford a real Rolex comments. I've got two precious metal pieces in my collection along with one I gave my wife for Christmas.
