Technomarine 114023C wrist watches news:
AllI have mistakenly deleted the thread started yesterday by Tom Diss. This came about when I went to delete one of my own posts; rather than permanently delete the post I managed to kill the whole thread. Not clever; especially considering the sensitivity of the subject.Fortunately I had it open on another screen and was able to recover the first page. This is reprinted below verbatim and I have screen shots available - if anyone wishes to see what they'd posted as it looked then please PM me. What we have lost is, as memory serves, two posts from Coronado (Bryan) asking for details of sponsorship and the patron program as well as a mention of volunteering to pay sponsorship for his site as well as that of Rene and International Dial. There was also a question by another poster whether the WTF Sales Forum violated the posting rules; Tom had replied that it did not; a minimum Patron program payment of $10 per year permits one to post in the Sales Forum. I just watched an auction finish for a watch branded Rolex Oyster. The seller has avoided using the name Rolex anywhere in his sale but uses submariner. With a starting price of $175 it receives not one bid at all. So as a beginner the only reason I would have to avoid this is because no one else has bid on it, or just trust my gut feeling that something feels badly wrong. So my question is, if it is real Rolex why has no one bid on it, or if it is a fake why would it have a starting price of $175. Or did I just miss the sale of the century :). I have only ever seen a genuine Rolex through a shop window and have seen one fake, oddly it was a watch repair guy wearing it and he reckoned it was the best buy he ever made, apart from the ugly discoloured crown and nasty magnifier on the date the rest of it seemed ok. I really could not see myself owning either, Skinny wrists would not suit a Rolex. Very nice Men's Submariner - eBay (item 170556013526 end time Oct-23-10 14:09:47 PDT)
Hey guys, kinda curious about this watch I picked up on ebay, wondering if anyone has any thoughts on it. It's a vintage Rodania, which apparently the face was redone on. I've never heard of this being done, but the watch was pretty cheap so I figured I'd give it a shot. I attached some pictures of it (green) compared to another Rodania I have that I'm fairly certain is authentic (white). As you can see, the logo on the white one is much more crisp. They both have sweep second hand. I took off the case back and the green one does say seventeen 17 jewels Swiss, as does the white one. They look pretty similar. One difference I notice (with my untrained eye) is that the green one has a white plastic component ring around the perimeter of the machinery. I also have a close up of the green one (mechanism) in the photobucket folder. Hi,I changed the battery in my Tag with a 955412 ETA movement and the second hand was still jumping like the battery was weak, looking for a "reset" I saw a button with an arrow and pushed it, low and behold, the stem came out and now I can't get it to stay in.Any help appreciated! Thanks,John
Met up with some friends on Sunday for lunch and took a group shot. The only question is, what's the time? Somewhere around 2pm ish, but we couldn't quite agree.
