- This is a beautiful, albeit large, watch. Very substantial on the wrist and an unusual color, which I like. The only complaint I would have is that the extra band that is included does not actually fit the watch.

Hi everyone! I am looking to buy a new watch and after months of looking around, i am down to these two. I am posting an image and spec comparison of both. I am being offered around the same price for both. The PO is couple of hundred bucks lesser. One thing to keep in mind about the price is in the PO i am getting the bracelet and with the MM its a rubber strap. Which one would you guys pick and why? help me choose. I am posting this in the public, omega and the chopard forum, so i get feedback from the neutrals as well as the fans! Thanks!picasaweb.google/karthick...eat=directlinkHTML Code:
Serial # 18003321 (Between Late 1910-1911)14k GoldI believe its a size 18.17 Jewels AdjustedWeighs 65 grams.. (or somewhere around that figure)Pictures :ImageShack Album - 10 imagesI wanted to know the value of this watch. It still works I know that but I did nothing to clean it or buff it out because I know it's an antique and I would be upset if I broke it (I left it as is), so I Just did some research about the watch and found out how old it was and I weighed it. Seems like a really cool watch. I see some of them going on ebay for a pretty penny. I thought maybe some of you guys would know the value of this watch and how much it can go for.Is it true the value of gold could be more valuable than the watch itself? Thats something that crossed my mind.Let me know your expertise. I'd love to hear your information reguarding the watch.Thank you.
Diamond cap jewels on high grade movements from the turn of the century, real diamonds or just for show fakes? This picture is of a 21 jewel Riverside Maximus from about 1900, it has two diamond cap jewels. One above the balance wheel and one more just above the escapement wheel. I don't have anything powerful enough to get a real close look at these to make a good decision. I scored two movements with these jewels this week, one is from 1899 and the other is from 1900. Just want to know for future reference. Thanks.
Can anyone shed any light on this: Its a West End Watch co. Model name Hira. No. 3759685DSCN2852b.jpg
Soo just this week I acquired a late 60s pre-moon speedmaster in fairly good shape that I have fallen in love with. While walking around downtown this week I stopped to check the time on my watch and much to my dismay the top (start / stop) pusher on the speedy was gone. I looked around but could not find it anywhere.I've checked online and see that I can source the part for fairly cheap (its a 145.022) from ofrei. However, I am afraid I might need other parts or tools to install it (new tube? spring?, etc?). I called some Omega dealers and they suggested it would have to go to Omega / Swatch for a service which will likely run me $800. The watch is not running at factory standars (its losing/gaining 9 seconds a day) so Omega would require me to take a full service.Any thoughts on what options I might have? The watch has not been serviced since 1999 so it is due (though its still keeping decent time). Should I take the plunge and get the full service or is there a band-aid solution tha
