Tissot T0954171703702 wrist watches news:
After a few challenging economic years for the watch industry, in which some feared big-ticket haute horlogerie timepieces were on the wane, tourbillon watches came roaring back at this year’s Baselworld. Here’s a trio of unusual tourbillons that grabbed our attention.Chopard brings its long association with motorsports? to bear in the design of its new L.U.C. Engine One Tourbillon, which is built to resemble the engine block of a high-performance racecar. The horizontally oriented titanium case contains a manual-wound tourbillon movement, Chopard Caliber L.U.C. 04.02-L, designed and assembled at Chopard’s manufacture in Fleurier, Switzerland. The openings in the movement resemble those on a car engine’s air intake; the engraved grooves on the dial-side bridges are inspired by engine-block cylinder heads and are a functional part of the mainplate. The case features contrast in its polished and brushed surfaces as well as in its cut-off curves and concave surface
The modern arms race with watches isn¡¯t about gears and pinions, but rather materials. It may appear that brands are hot on beating each others' movements but they know that such a war would be a joke. The race for the most accurate movement slowed to almost a halt when quartz watches hit the scene, and there are almost no new viable complications to be invented. The secrecy and excitement in the world of high-end watches is all in discovering, creating, and exploiting the hottest new materials. We¡¯ve seen this over the last 10 years more than ever. Ceramic, titanium, carbon fiber, silicium, and other new or previously under-utilized materials are more than common now. Even within those categories are new alloys, manufacturing techniques, formulations, uses, and colors. For those who only get hot and bothered by calibers, I say start looking outside the watch more often. In about 2009 Omega announced that it would be using a new type of material called Liquidmetal. What arrived soon afte
Hi All,I'm just curious but what kind of accuracy can I expect from a self winding mechanical watch? Thanks in advance,Bob
ENZO MECHANICAHere are details on the cool dive watch. (Boscoe disclaimer: They are a WTF sponsor, so that's where you can check 'em out. I'm posting this because the designs are interesting - not because they're a sponsor. However, I do appreciate their sponsorship.)When we set out to make this diver's watch, we thought of stripping down the concept of a watch as jewelry or status and our mindset was in line with a machine or tank, industrial age forged steel, minimal ornamentation, something indestructable to last a lifetime of extreme use, simply put, a man's watch, having said that, we would like to introduce to you the EM001. SPECIFICATIONS FOR EM001: 1) Diameter of the case: 42.00mm2) Width of the band: 24.00mm3) The total thickness of the watch: 16.70mm, weight 286 grams4) Crystal: domed 5.30mm thick sapphire w ultra violet coating on the underside5) Movement: ETA 2824-2 Automatic with engraved enzo mechana rotor6) Case and band: 316L surgical stainless steel7) Water resistant:
Went into an Omega boutique yesterday to check out Omega offerings, and man was I impressed with the new PO w/ 8500 movement. The new exhibition back and the super luminova on the date wheel is AWESOME. They even had a woman's version my wife was drooling over. Great stuff. That being said, with a $6100 sticker price, I'd still lean toward Rolex at that price. Very well done though.
