Even though George Daniels has passed away a few years ago in some regards his spirit lives on in the work of Roger Smith. Daniels' protege and also an independent watch maker located on the Isle of Man, Roger still works hard to maintain the standards that George Daniels set out for him during his time working under Daniels - a master watchmaker. Among those mandates were that all watches needed to be made by hand, using hand-made parts, and of course, completely decorated by hand. Some of the techniques used in his watch are hundreds of years old while others are the inventions of George Daniels or Roger Smith themselves. In any event, these are watches built mostly as one-of-a-kind creations, such as the recently completed GREAT Britain by order of the English government.Roger Smith produces about 10 or so timepieces per a year. Watch slowing down...comments
Hi all,I bought a new Sub a couple months ago, and I noticed this morning that my watch slow down by about 4 hours to the current time. I forgot to wear the watch yesterday would that be the cause of slowing down?SHould i send it to the service center to look into it?It's a lovely new watch..........don't know why is this happening..Any advices?Thank you.

Movado info needed
Hello, I just found a Movado with the numbers 87.E2.860.2 and I cannot seem to find any information about it. I have not seen another like it. It has a black face, and a black rim around it, and gold on each side. I took it to a jewler and he said it was a real Movado, but he had not seen this one before either. Can anyone give me any info about it, or steer me to a place where I might find someone who may know something about it? (I have pics I can post when I get time) Thank you,S Pierre

Another "Advice for Panerai Newb" thread
Hi, I've admired Panerai for a long time from afar, but recently I'm becoming seriously interested and I think my next piece will be a Panerai. Seeing pics of the 690 really got me excited...I love everything about it except that my preference would be for a mix of brushed and polished surfaces. Here are some different things I'm looking for in my first Panerai:-44 to 47mm-sapphire crystal (preference for highly domed)-display back-seconds hand-NO date-sandwich dial-no wire lugs-at least some brushed surfaces-preference for manual wind but automatic isn't a deal breaker-preference for full 3, 6, 9, 12 dial but missing 9 isn't a deal breakerI'm open to new or preowned. I'm not sure which case size/style I prefer...I'm planning to visit a boutique to try them out on the wrist soon. The number of different models is definitely intimidating! Any advice on which models I should consider given my preferences? Some I've found so far are 127, 422, 510, 572, and 619...(and the 690 would b
