Tissot T17.1.586.32 wrist watches news:
The New York Times is reporting that Stanley Simon, who was instrumental in bringing the Bulova Watchmaking School into being, has passed away in Manhattan. He was 93. The School, founded in 1945, became a model for industry-lead rehabilitation of disabled veterans. First conceived as World War II drew to an end, the school trained thousands of veterans in the watchmaker’s art. The school was founded by company president Arde Bulova, who wanted to repay the service of returning veterans. He named it for his father Joseph, who founded the Bulova Watch Company in New York in 1875.As Bulova’s industrial relations director, Stanley Simon played a central role in the school’s development. He oversaw construction of the school’s building, where ramps, automatic doors, and extra-wide elevators accommodated wheelchairs. An inscription on the school’s cornerstone reads simply “To serve those who served us.” Less than a year after the school opened, jewe
The Longines Column-Wheel Chronograph Record is inspired by a chronograph developed in the 1960¡¯s. This worthy modern heir to former timekeeping instruments has been completely redesigned by the brand and equipped with an exclusive L688.2 column wheel movement. It is particularly easy to read thanks to its centre seconds hand with a vernier scale at its tip that indicates the time to one eighth of a second on the minute track. A sporty design complements its technical features. The case, in stainless steel, measures 41mm. It has an AR-coated sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 30 meters.Movement is the Swiss automatic Longines (in-house by ETA exclusively for Longines) caliber L688.2 with 27 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 54 hours. It is a column-wheel chronograph.Dials are available in black or white.
Went to get in the car and go off to a rally for the day and my brother said wheres the chrono button gone my heart sank and as I turned my wrist the spring fell out. The button is nowhere to be found. So here is the story and im probably writing this post to get some reassurance from you guys. I had the watch serviced under warranty November last year as I wasn't happy with the Chronograph function. Whilst they were looking into this I mentioned the looseness off the pushers and got them to check it was in tolerance. Now upon it falling off over the weekend, I called the watch shop and told them what had happened and that id like to exercise the warranties service, 1 year further warranty. They told me it did not cover anything on the outside of the watch. My reply was I specifically mentioned the pusher be check so it should be documented on the warranty request form. They are looking into it which makes me nervous..............
Hi FolksI have Just joined this Forum so thank very much for letting me join.I have a couple of questions about a recent purchase i made with a local seller.I have owned a few rolexes including a Gmt master 2 2004 model and now have a Gmt 2 Ceramic sale date 2014 and was puchased based on the warranty card from LA SUISSE WATCH CO HongKong and stamped on the card. Now based on the serial no of the watch which indicates a production date of 2009/2010 is it unusual for a Gmt master 2 ceramic black dial to sit for 4 years prior to sale. The watch is 9.5 out of 10 for condition and i have all the box paperwork etc. Also and based on my last watch which i bought from my local rlex dealer the sound of the movent sound identical to my older 2004 Gmt.Just wanted your thoughts o this.ThanksKeith
I know there are a lot of people who don't understand why anyone would purchase the WG version when the SS version is half the price...and the watches look the same.I have stated before that looks are just one aspect. The heft and feel of the WG version is completely different and at least to me, something that gives me great pleasure over the SS one.And of course, when you look at SS vs WG vs PT..they do look different...same color white but different hues and tones as to be identifiable to a trained eye but of course not easily detectable by the public. As I stated, I am fine with that. But, there is actually a difference between the WG and SS model in terms of appearance. The newer SS model has a newly designed oyster bracelet that fits into the lugs a little wider than the PM versions. It actually looks nicer than the PM bracelet. So, as with dial color etc on other models when it comes to SS vs PM.....the SkyD may have the same dial color and sticks between the SS and PM model.....but
