The official status of Omega’s Speedmaster Professional as that of “Moonwatch” is widely known and celebrated amongst enthusiasts and certainly by Omega themselves. Unlike many brand partnerships, the relationship between Omega and NASA has yielded real, tangible benefits, with the Speedmaster itself making appearances in each of the manned missions to the Moon, and even contributing to one of the greatest dramas of the 20th century, helping the astronauts of Apollo 13 return safely to Earth after an oxygen tank explosion two days into the mission. To gain a more personal perspective on this relationship, Omega sent us to NASA headquarters in Houston, where we had access to astronauts Jim Lovell (Gemini 7, 12; Apollo 8, 13) and Tom Stafford (Gemini 6A, 9A; Apollo 10; ASTP). Dear Rolex-Fans,today I would like to bring the Turn-O-Graph into the focus. Following please find the different versions and references from the beginning of the 70ies. In 1970 the Rolex-Program shows:Turn-O-Graph, ref. 1625/x, caliber 1575, without quickset of the date, plexi crystal. The following references were available:Steel/Whitegold, Ref. 1625/4Steel/Pinkgold, Ref. 1625/33 (33=?)Stell/Yellowgold, Ref 1625/3Yellowgold, Ref. 1625/8Pinkgold, Ref. 1625/83 (83=?)The references in pinkgold were only available until approx. 1974. A Turn-O-Graph completely made out of whitegold similar to the resp. Datejust 1601/9 was not part of the manufacturing program. Interestingly the 1625 was equipped with a smaller winding crown (dia. 5.3 mm, no. 530) than the resp. Datejust 160x (dia. 6 mm, no. 600). Started out as a perfectly happy owner of a Sub-C.Watch for everything.
