- This watch was more than I expected. It's a beautiful watch with a very heavy/sturdy band. Would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a watch that catches looks from everyone.

Tissot T0636372203700 wrist watches news:
Does anyone know of a AD that might still have a GMT Pepsi NOS/Used floating around. I have only received one PM on the sales side of the forum.
I had a meeting at The British Museum, their Horology department has some 8000 watches but ONLY about 800 on permanent display. One of the watches on 'permanent display' is a Hamilton 1943 used in Maratime navigation, therefore needing the greatest accuracy.,see pictures below. Its worth mentioning that The British Museum has some of the greatest collections from all over the world, like the Rosetta Stone, the 'Elgin marbles (Parthenon sculptures)' the Lewis Chessmen and the Collossal bust of Ramesses the Great.so the Hamilton their is a great honour to American Horology:enjoyadam
I got something VERY cool in the mail today! The entire volume of the 1955 Elgin inner-company magazine called "The Watch World". It seems that this was a magazine that was given to all Elgin employees that covered a very wide range of topics such as production, concept watches, company bowling league stats, updates on the Elgin company basketball team "The Lord Elgins", new machinery, employee updates, profit sharing and so on......If you are wondering why there are only 11 in the pictures June & July were bunched into one single issue. The August 1955 issue is especially interesting! It previews the "direct read" Lord Elgin that came to market on September 1, 1955. It hits on solar watches, the memory watch, telephone watches, the day-dream watch and depth gauge watches for the skin diver! It also shows "concept watches" some of which never even made it to market! Do you know that Elgin had an on site Dentist at their main factory for their employees? They were giving pensions to
I kind of like the 5170P...but diamond hour markers and a shiny band?? Seems too fem for what could have been a killer. As for rolex the cellini with the moon is kind of cool but not enough to get me buying.I had my hopes set very high for a 5270p or new variant of such.I can't believe it...I really think this will be my first basel in ages where I don't order anything.I'm kind of at a loss...I feel like something is dying inside...uggggggI'll track down a new panerai bronzo I guess...meh
i just got my watch back from RSC and i see that the crown is no longer flush when screwed down. it was flush before.they did replace the crown and tube, along w/ doing a full factory service. i unscrewed the crown to set the time and screwed it back down, it did indeed stop short of flush.i'm asking if this is within tolerance or if i should have them fix it.sorry for the crappy photo, but i think it gets the point across.
