Lew & Huey Riccardo Review
Not too long ago, we introduced you to the Lew & Huey Riccardo. At that point, the brand was trying to raise money via kickstarter to get the watch off the ground, which clearly was successful. Chris Vail, the brand's founder, did an excellent job of building community support via WUS and various blog posts, creating a following before the watches were ever even made. Now, the Riccardo is practically sold out and people are awaiting his next watches, the Acionna and Spectre.There were a few very exciting things about the Riccardo, so we were quite happy to have the chance to give it a review. To start, it's an automatic chronograph that costs $550 thanks to the Seagull ST1940 movement inside. We love it when brands takes risks, and in the Swiss and Japanese movement dominated watch-o-sphere, using a Chinese made chronograph is a bit of bold move, especially for a first watch. But, it's a very cool movement and one of, if not the most, affordable way to make a new mechanical chronog

Present Day Explorer II
What is the stock status (general retail sightings) for the present day Explorer II? Are they drying-up in the market place with the anticipation of the new EXP next year? What price difference do you see on the new EXP when available next fall?

I really love me some astronaut inspired Speedmaster accessories for my Speedmaster.Kizzi NASA style Velcro...JB Champion with an Apollo 12 period calendar...Found this Apollo era pocket slide rule last week...Surrounded by a nice unused vintage set of 1968 Timely calendars...Checking the spec in the Handbook of Pilot Operational Equipment for Manned Space Flight...

Lucky day at the airport (first Rolex)
So, I was walking through Schiphol on Friday, with an hour to kill before my flight home, when I happened upon a 116710LN at the airside Gassan store. It was sitting the the display window (the only SS model they had) and the salesperson said she had just put it out there minutes before.Moments later, it was on my wrist, and I boarded my flight home with a big smile. This is my first Rolex, and as a frequent business traveller, I think the GMT complication will be very useful. Here's a quick picture taken from the lounge. By the way, for those who might be interested in buying a watch from the airport, I paid exactly MSRP minus VAT (which in NL, is 21%), so in this case 7,750 EUR - VAT = 6,404 EUR.
