- Clasp too for such a piece. Broke nail trying to open and close. Also, not enough space between knob and bracelet to set time on watch.Returned.

U-Boat 1021 wrist watches news:
I've liked the Kazimon Eintausend ever since I first noticed it a while back. With the tons of watches vying for my attention the classy German diver sat by idly waiting for me to notice it once again. Now, after revisiting the Eintausend watch again I am pleased to say that the design still pleases me greatly. What you have in a nutshell is a fashionably designed, well finished, functional diver watch with a good German character and reasonable price. You start with a steel case that is 44mm wide with a 22mm wide metal bracelet. The case has a nice almost satin finish with a good deal of angles mixed with curves and nice technical features. As a diver watch, the style of the dial reminds me a lot of aviator watches. I think the combined style is well done. You can see homages to other popular German "tool" watches in the design for what I feel is a satisfying result.A lot went in to the durability of the watch. The case is 1000 meters water resistant, has shock protection, and is anti
This is a 'see through' pocket watch (circa 1939) and from what I understand, it was originally a promo item from Shell Oil manufactured by Gerard-Perregaux. 30,000 were made and distributed throughout the United States. Though many of them are now long gone, I have one that is physically intact although it no longer runs. It is a manual winding, 7 jewel movement and hardly representative of Girard-Perregaux's watchmaking legacy. On the other hand, it is somewhat unique and while folks don't ordinarily carry pocket watches anymore I'm wondering whether it is worth fixing. Replacement parts are no longer available and so there are limitations to this undertaking. It was my father's and he used it as an everyday work watch during the early to mid 1950s. One day it just stopped running and was tossed into a drawer only to be discovered 60 years later. Is anyone here familiar with this model and the cost-effectiveness of getting it running again in terms of the watch's overall value?
Alrighty folks! I haven't posted many things as of late, but I want to try and change that! Now before we start with the watch, I believe it's story time. This Wednesday, I was working at a local auction house as a runner, there were a few watches and clocks (which I got for a song ) that i was interested in.Around 9PM, the auction was on it's last legs, almost everyone was paid up and leaving and at this point, they were selling stuff by the box to try and get rid of it.I was poking around the back table, when I stumbled across a box with a broken plate, a single gun grip, a Timex and this poor, sad, pathetic little Lord Elgin. The thing is the nastiest little watch I've seen, there's no crystal, the gold fill is meh, the dial is crud and it's missing the second hand. I picked it up and wound it, expecting to hear nothing. But alas! The heart inside this homeless watch began to beat, I was shocked!"$3 for this box!""Going once, twice - sold! To bidder number 112!"So I got the ugly-as-si
Greetings TRF,I have never posted a thread in this section before so I thought I would do it today to share with you my first experience with Audemars Piguet and one of their AD's. As some of you may know AP only has one dealer in Montreal, La Swiss on Ste-Catherine Boulevard (which is in downtown Montreal). I went there the other day with my girlfriend.First of all, allow me to talk to you a bit about the staff. Upon entering in the store we were greeted by a young lady who politely asked us if we needed help. Since it was my first time I told her I was just looking around and she told us to take our time before letting us take a look at the watches. A few minutes after a man came to us and after talking to him a little bit I asked him if I could try one on, he then invited us to a small desk and took the gloves out to let us take a look at some models. Overall the staff was very, very polite and kind, the man that helped me while I was there didn't seem to be your ordinary salesman,
what does everyone think of the Pam 526? I really like the dial and was surprised that it wore comfortably because of the titanium and the rubber strap. I know it's a watch that doesn't exhibit the classic Panerai characteristics and it's quite costly. Is it a strong seller? How is the movement's reliability? Any owners here? Thanks in advance.
