Interesting Little Piece of Elgin History
Snagged one of the last series of dials produced by Elgin before it closed its doors and sold off its name in 1969. I've seen better, but still nice to have this sad part of Elgin history.

15400 vs 15710 movements ?
So I thought I was set on the 15400 black dial version until I looked through the 160 page show your AP thread. Noticed quite a few people had the 15710 on a bracelet and that got me thinking do I want the diver instead. So was talking to my friend on the phone today he had a 15300 a few years ago and said he had a really bad experience, he had the watch for 4-5 years put it in for a service and ended up with a ��3000 bill and he said he believes the movements on the 15300/15400 don't hold up very well because AP insists on using ultra thin movements and they don't last as long.Just wanted to ask what people think about this if it's true or a lot of rubbish? Also what's the 15710 movement like is that ultra thin as well ?To be honest I don't know anything about movements just like to buy watches that look nice to me, so I look forward to your replies.
