U-Boat 1838 wrist watches news:
Contessa by Eterna - Women's Swiss Watch modelIt's very hard to please a woman. Especially when we come armed with knowledge, taste, and high expectations. It must be even more difficult for such a traditional manufacture to create a dynamic timepiece for modern women that includes technological performance and aesthetic appeal. But I must admit that Eterna has done just that with its latest Contessa models.Since 1865, the watchmakers of Eterna have toiled to maintain their image of perfection and selectivity. The exclusivity of this brand makes it that much more desirable. Known for the precision of their slim movements, Eterna is brand that stays true to itself and its traditions, even in today's fluctuating markets.Eterna - Nothing But Watchmaking - was able to create a dynamic, versatile timepiece that is distinctively feminine yet a still a fine timepiece. Their use of different textures within the dial creates an immediate, emotional response that cyclically moves your eyes across
Somebody turned me on to a Seamaster quartz for sale. I have not seen the watch yet, but have some questions before I go over to see it. I was told the owner died, and the watch is in excellent near new condition.First.....how does the quartz compare to the auto in terms of resale value? I was always planning on getting an auto when I bought a new watch; never thought about quartz. Second.....I was told the ref # is 2541800. What does that mean?Third.....If the condition is like new, what is a proper price?Any assistance is appreciated.
Being a noob maybe these are very common and I dont know that, but I haven't been able to find any info on them with a Google search. Never wore a shirt that needed cufflinks before, so I can't justify buying them. But I figured that somebody here might be interested.Vintage - Heavy gold plated Hamilton Watch cuff links - eBay (item 250673843924 end time Aug-04-10 09:57:11 PDT)
Did Ulysse Nardin ever use a crown for a logo? If so, when? Thanks
Apologies in advance for bad photo from cell phone.I need to quit reading these forums - it is bad for my bank accounts!Well, after a long, long period of deliberation, I unloaded my 116520 Daytona and settled on a Patek - an aquanaut 5167.I'm pretty thrilled! It is weird to be without a Rolex for the first time in 10+ years (I've owned 3). But the PP is really nice! Here's a quick summary of why I made the switch. Usual caveat that these are my opinions only.Downsides for the Datyona - I found legibility to be poor due to lack of anti-reflective coating and very busy dial. And the watch never really sat comfortably on my arm and was in constand battle with my shirt sleves. Also, I wish I could see the movement!Upsides for the Daytona - Looks incredible and has an amazing history. Every watch fan should own a Daytona at least once. Rolexes are built like tanks. No need to baby them.Downside for 5167 - Wish the band had some micro adjustment feature vs. using a scissors to cut
