- It's beautiful; it works; can't beat the price. Had to replace the band as it wouldn't stay put, but the watch is attractive, smart looking, and looks beautiful on.

U-Boat 1858 wrist watches news:
Hi alli have enjoyed reading your posts and have used the information to purchase my first omega.i have attached some images and hope you enjoy.
This week a lot of 4 Elgins came up on Ebay. One of them caught my eye. It is the same case shape as one of the solid gold Lord Elgins. I set up a snipe and won the lot, then waited impatiently for the watches to arrive. They arrived Thursday night. I pulled out the one I'd thought might be gold. No, the watch in question is NOT gold. But it IS a mystery! The lug was almost falling off when it arrived, and fell off completely when I tried to remove the bracelet. But the lugs are MALE, requiring FEMALE springbars! I don't know when those stopped being used, but it seems to me these may be pretty late for them. The broken lug is also bent. I'd like to fix it, but i don't know how yet.The caseback is stamped "Cased and Timed by Elgin National Watch Co.; Swiss; Acier Staybrite" - well, actually, it says 'GASED' "Acier Staybrite" is a form of stainless used in watches. I know that Omega used it. I think it's an authentic Elgin case. The style of the dial matches the age of the
I was in NYC this last weekend and wondered into the Rolex building. I just recently acquired a Pepsi GMT. I have been having problems with the crown now winding. They told me that it needed a service and a new crow. The total is about 800 dollars. Does anyone know what the RSC does for a full service to the watch? does it basically come back like new?? Here is a list of stuff they found with the watch.WATCH CONDITIONl Bracelet wornl Case scratchedl Bezel scratchedl Dial luminous material worn l Full service requiredl Bracelet scratchedl Bezel dentedl Hands luminous material worn l Crown worn Looking at this list, you'd think the watch was a mess. I couldn't see half this stuff. I thought it was pretty clean. Thoughts?!?!
I love the 228238 and the 116618LN. I have had a 36mm Rolex Day Date that I bought new back in 2001. I paid $20,000 for that watch from an AD. I made the huge mistake of selling it. Now looking back on what they are going for now, even after 16-17 years, they don't really hold their value well. I know my 116040 and 126600 will fair very well over the next 10-20 years, assuming I keep them. What are the forum members thoughts on PM Rolex watches?
I was speaking with a friend about this today and he brought up some good points. Is the Pelagos a better choice for a daily wearer? Comparing the in house movement 25600TN to the 116610LN. Aside from being quite similar to the SubC, the Tudor has:-Better water resistance at 500m-Better power reserve at 70hr-Gas escape valve like that on the more expensive Sea Dweller-No cyclops which is a perk to a lot of peopleThe Rolex has:-Better finishing-Longer, 5 year warrantyOutside of these points, the watches are incredibly similar. Same purpose, well built, both have micro adjustable clasps, all in all great daily wearers. However, when you can buy a brand new Pelagos for $3500, but a brand new Rolex SubC date is $7500..........is it really worth a $4000 premium? Opinions?
