Ulysse Nardin 136-91 wrist watches news:
Omega, long time official timekeeper of the Olympics, has released another limited edition watch in honor of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Called the Omega Sochi Petrograd limited edition, this special retro-redo piece is extremely unique and speaks to an existing older art deco-style Omega watch from 1915. The first limited edition Sochi Olympic games watch was this Planet Ocean model. Often, Omega has been seen offering more than one limited edition watch for each new Olympics games. What is interesting about the Omega Sochi Petrograd (aside from its history) is that it is a more unique timepiece, and not just a specially branded version of something that Omega currently produces, but rather a revival of an older limited edition (based on the classic). We've actually seen the historic model that the Omega Sochi Petrograd limited edition watch is based on at the Omega museum in Switzerland. Typical of the 1910s and 1920s, the tonneau style case was developed during a time
This knife doesn't tell the time but it sure looks like it should. American artist and knife maker Van Barnett calls this steampunk style creation the Time Machine. It is a collectible hand-made knife with a lot of old-timey futuristic personality. Barnett incorporates watch parts into the beautifully cool folding knife creation - which are more or less sold out for years and made individually by him (often with meaningful personalizations for each buyer, according to his website). He makes only a four of these per year and is so sold out far enough that he isn't taking new orders.Barnett takes his time crafting each piece. The Time Machine blades are made from Damascus steel (which Barnett forges himself), and the bodies are made from various metals which include steel, brass, silver, gold, copper, and more. The result is a wonderful mixture of colors and textures. The Time Machine is also a bit "aged" looking which adds to the steampunk aesthetic. It is a beautiful thing. It would be

Hi there folks! I have a 60's Seiko King Seiko that needs a little help. It has a bezel that 'presses' onto the crystal. It keeps the crystal in place. Well, it popped off while the watch was in my shirt pocket. I have had it at my local watch maker's, and he has tried to 'press' it on, but it won't stay on. He suspects that the gasket beneath the edges of the crystal is so old, it lacks the lubricity to expand to keep the bezel in place. It isn't supposed to be glued on. Does anyone know someone stateside that can fix this? I don't want to try shipping it to Seiko Japan if I can help it. Thanx, Chuck
