IWC Joins WatchTime for Ingenieur Launch Event at New York Boutique
Last year, IWC Schaffhausen opened its flagship boutique on New York’s Madison Avenue with a celebrity-filled gala. On Tuesday night, the boutique played host to the United States launch of the brand’s re-tooled Ingenieur line of sports watches, co-hosted by IWC and WatchTime.The evening drew more than 50 guests, including watch collectors and diehard fans of the brand, both to experience the boutique’s unique ambiance and to view the new Ingenieur watches, unveiled in Geneva at the SIHH watch fair back in January. Hong Kong Watch Clock Fair 2013: Examining Watch Design & Culture
For the second year, watches-dealer traveled to Hong Kong to attend the 2013 Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair. Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the event is a unique mixture of private and public interests whose main goal is to facilitate business, trade, and opportunity. As an American it was interesting to see such an effort on actually facilitating business and networking as producers and retailers come together to do business. In fact, the show goes so far as to have scheduled tours where retailers are walked through brand's booths. Things happen quickly here compared to Europe. While one Baselworld to another no doubt sees the release of entirely new models and products, the ability for the Chinese industry to shift so quickly in terms of what and how they produce is impressive. Tissot PRS 516 opinions?
Hello everyone. Some of you might recall that I acquired my first automatic watch last summer (old forum stuff ;)), a nice orange face Seiko SKXA55 "Bullet" diver.Well, as some of you might know this watch bug thing is kinda addicting, and I've been eyeing possible "next to get"-watches practically everyday. As the diver I have is orange faced, it is a bit bright at some occasions. Fortunately, I don't have to dress up to work, but I'd still like to have a watch that would be a little more classic/stylish. I would also like it to be swiss and have a ETA movement.My favorite in the (possible to try on in real life and) less than 400 $ range is (and has been for 4 months now) the Tissot PRS 516 non chrono on brown leather racing strap. Do you have any opinions on it? It is ETA 2836-2 equipped, and has a nice "sporty" vibe about it. Not sure about the strap yet (the holes), but I'll try it on before I make any judgments.
