Vacheron Constantin announces a new model: the Malte Moon Phase and Power-Reserve. The barrel-shaped case measures a generous 39 x 49mm. The dial is adorned with five different finishes. The inner zone features a silvered, finely hand-guilloch¨¦ ¡°Clous de Paris¡± or hobnail motif. The outer zone is decorated with a vertical satin-brushed finish, also silvered. The minute circle, the power-reserve display as well as the inscriptions Vacheron Constantin Gen¨¨ve and Swiss Made are all transferred, while the seconds subdial at 6 o¡¯clock is circular satin-brushed. And finally, the minute-circle and power-reserve zones are screen-printed in white. The moon-phase display is composed of a disc with a galvanized base and a moon face in 18k white gold or pink gold, depending on the model. The broad dial includes nine hour-markers, two Roman numerals and a Maltese cross, all in 18k white or pink gold, depending on the version. Hey guys !I just finished up with this Elgin about an hour ago so I thought that I'd share my results !I have seen plenty of the larger size 6s trench watches in my day but I haven't ever seen one quite like this.IT'S 14k YELLOW GOLD FILLED ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Finding one in 14k YGF is EXTREMELY difficult, most are nickel or silverode.The B&B "Royal" case has nice and thick lugs that are 18mm in diameter, most cases with this design are only 16mm.I just took the movement apart for a good cleaning and timing adjustment, it's rock'n and roll'n now!Just installed a new inner sleeve on the on the stem and a brand new glass crystal too boot!I used a VERY NICE 18mm genuine Buffalo open ended band with a matching gold tone buckle.I think the band looks awesome with the 14k YGF trench case!The dial on this Elgin is just out of this world ! ! ! ! !VERY NICE enamel dial with ornate script Arabic numerals, not a hairline, chip or crack ! ! !AND ! ! ! Guys what makes 5131 so more appealing compared to 5130, and 5131 price 2.5 times more than msrp, shouldn't 5130 platinum be more expensive than white gold, please enlighten me

To insure or not to insure...
I've been quoted 270$+tx per year to insure my SubC date for full replacement value. I'm hesitating to insure it, or not. That is a very hefty price for only 1 watch... I always have my sub on my wrist, even when I go at the gym.Talking about gym, I went there this afternoon and while riding the bike somebody started using the bike on my left and really started staring at my watch. At this moment I thought again hmmm maybe I should get it insured... I don't want to have to fight for a watch I know that this has been talked about many many times here on TRF. What's your input on this? Keep in mind that I always have my watch on, while working, training, going out with friends, etc... Thanks in advance
