Longines L8.110.4.71.6 wrist watches news:
Artya watches finally has released their online e-commerce store. The brand started by Yvan Arpa has been making polarizing art timepieces for a little while now. They have been talking the web shop for a while, and it has finally been launched. Why is this good? Well in addition to giving fans of their work a convenient place to not only buy and peruse their available items, but it helps people better understand what they do, and how their art keeps evolving. Artya makes only piece unique watches and does not release press releases for each new model. So going to the site is an excellent way for collectors to see what is new and how much things cost. The average price of Artya piece unique watches is about $4,000 - $7,000.
I can rarely afford Hamiltons, but last year I managed to get my hands on 3 of them .......and my particular favorite............who knows? maybe this season, I'll be able to move up to more of them .....they really are such fabulous watches .......
All gold is not created equal. Well, not after its purity is diluted. There are different alloys classified as 18K and 14K, with different properties and colors depending on the metals used in the mixture. Copper, silver, and gold all have the same basic crystal structure which makes them ideal for combining. 100% pure gold is designated 24K, so 18K is 75% pure (18 divided by 24 is .750) and 14K is 58.5% pure. The following are typical ratios followed by the resulting color achieved.18K75% gold + 25% silver = green 75% gold + 16% silver + 9% copper = pale yellow75% gold + 12.5% silver + 12.5% copper = yellow75% gold + 9% silver + 16% copper = pink/rose75% gold + 4.5% silver + 20.5% copper = red14K58.5% gold + 41.5% silver = green58.5% gold + 34% silver + 7.5% copper = green-yellow58.5% gold + 26% silver + 15.5% copper = pale yellow58.5% gold + 30% silver + 11.5% copper = yellow58.5% gold + 19.5% silver + 22% copper = pink/rose58.5% gold + 9% silver + 32.5% copper = redThe standards for
I got my 15400 a few weeks ago and I love it. Awesome watch, no complaints. Thing is, I've always loved the diver and I'm thinking about flipping up to get it, despite the fact that AP is not in the top 3 anymore Not an option to have both right now. So, here are my questions:For those that have the diver and a 15400/15300, how does it wear? I've tried on the diver once and thought it was a little big but I'm willing to forgo that if it's super comfy and doesn't like huge on my wrist (6.75ish). I sold my BP cause it was too big but I had the Speedmaster 9300, which is 44mm and I thought it was a great size. Do you wear it as a daily beater? If not, why?Am I gonna regret losing the 15400 for the diver? Bear in mind that I'm a serial flipper and I rarely look back (except in the case of the HULK, which I've owned 3 times now). All assistance is appreciated. AP rock on!
For a vintage watch, my old 1969 Speedy keeps almost perfect (- 5 seconds in 14 hours) time when wound up & then laid face up on a flat surface, but whilst still very accurate given it's age, looses time at slightly over twice rate that when worn.Any thoughts?
