This watch is nice i just don't think it is for plussize wrists. I wore this watch and after about an hour I had tio take it off. It was pinching my wrist. Very uncomfortable.

I started seriously looking at watches again around the same time nola did and now I feel like im ready to move up a bit in prices. I want to see what people think would be a good watch in the neighborhood of $400-600. It has to be something versatile that looks good with jeans and a t-shirt or a suit, currently own:2 seiko 51 alpha1 vostok1 orient1 hamilton(vintage)2 cheap chinese knock offs

What about basing a collection on independants?
I've been thinking about how I may be able to narrow my collection a bit, and it strikes me that I seem to lean towards brands that are small & independent like Bucherer, Borel, Buler, Edox, Mirexal, and Titoni. Not sure about Ebel, Gruen,or Festinaare they still indi?With this in mind, could you folks help me assemble a list of (modest) watch companies that are still on their own?Any help would be appreciated.Cliff

Took a trip over to the Natick Omega Boutique at lunch time and the staff revealed THEIR assertion that the Co-Ax Seamaster Aqua Terra Anti-Magnetic (code name Bumble-Bee) will be available in February 2014 at a retail price of $6,600.No reason to doubt the man who said this, just always take AD's information at arms length, since they are more interested in sales than factual accuracy. If true, this seems reasonable for such a break-through watch and the timing seems a little delayed like most U.S. allocations of new pieces. I think I read Europe may have them by the end of October? Thought some of might like to know...If true, come February, this will be mine! oh yes, it shall be mine!!! Mooo-wah-ah-ah-ah-ah!! <---said in my best sinister laugh while wringing my hands.

Is it too much Rolex to ask that I can walk into a store and just buy or order a Rolex that I would like to own and that you can fulfil the stores requests so customers can have a watch? Can’t you just get scale up or down to meet customers demands or are you not willing to and thus keeping other people who have no intention of keeping a watch in business as this is not good business.AD places orders you supply to order what’s the problem with that ?
