Vacheron Constantin 17620/S11G-9478 wrist watches news:
My SS models are Cooool.:cool::cool:What do you think?.My GMT IIC.My Sub 16800 with leather strap.
I've finally arrived in Maui. A beautiful magic carpet ride on a Boeing 767 wide body. Man that was sweet. I've come to take lots of pics, although I left my good cameras at home - not enough room for that stuff. I am on the look for a new watch and for some new straps for existing watches.I pulled in to my old watchmaker guy here and he has already sold me on my next watch - A diamond Rolex Date/Just. It has just enough bling. I've always liked this model, and I don't know how I would top it for the money. The price includes a full service and regulation back to COSC specs. More about this later.Hang on for some travel shots, my HOGS.
I was just wondering where the name comes from. I am under the impression that the second hour hand can be set to any time zone, so why call it a GMT which implies that it is set to the GMT timezone...Just wondering about the origins of the name if anyone knows?
For those that don't read the PP and AP threads, added this here as well. A big fan of our local QANTAS inflight magazine which not only has lots of watch adds, but runs a watch feature each month. Not the most detailed article but one worth having a read over, as I posted in the AP section, not often that a person has designed 2 of the top 5 Icon's in any category. You may pick up something you did not know, I know most on this forum are way more informed than I. .qantas.au/infodetail/...outWatches.pdf
Of Rolex making all of these cool sport model watches and then if you have cash in hand you can’t find one. I stopped by my local AD last week the guy who’s real nice btw told me he only sees a few come in of each model yearly. Such as Batman, hulk, Daytona’s, deepblues etc. Really what’s the point just to keep prices high?Or something else?I’m not a watch expert and I only own one Rolex so maybe for me the answer is not so obvious.
