- I was looking for a nice looking watch that I could be a little rough with. This seems to be just what I've wanted....and was very happy to find it for a fraction of the price I would have paid at a local store.

Vacheron Constantin 47192/000r-9352 wrist watches news:
We often think of watchmaking as a quaint, old world, manual operation - wizened men hunched over a desk, loupe planted firmly in the eye, carving out steel components with 19th century tools. While there still are watch manufactures that preserve the old ways of doing things, even the storied companies like Patek and Lange fully embrace the latest technology for parts of the process where it makes sense. Similarly, even mass produced pieces require some manual steps and the steady hands of trained watchmakers to assemble.Take, for example, the Tissot Sea Touch. from the L.A. County District Attorney's office website:Three teenage boys defrauded would-be Rolex wristwatch buyers out of more than $20,000 in an Internet scam. The boys lied about their ages and used stolen credit card account numbers to set up online auctions of the wristwatches. Photos of merchandise scanned from a Rolex catalog were used to market the nonexistent watches on the online auction sites. The boys demanded that all payments be made in cashiers¡¯ checks so that no "stop payments" could be made. Three victims sent cashiers checks totaling $22,500 before realizing they had been duped. The boys pleaded guilty and were ordered to repay the money they had stolen.
