Seiko 5H23 Questions
Hey guys, just a quick question regarding Seiko's 5H23 quartz movement popular in late 80's and early 90's Sports 100/150 and dive watches. I understand that this movement is quite similar to Seiko's 5Y23 movement only a slightly higher torque version. Is this the case? And also, in my enclosed picture, does anyone know what the little yellow circles are on the movement (one to the left of the crystal and two to the right of the battery). Any help would be appreciated!

When the 2014 new offshores were announced, I was feeling kinda blah about it... I thought it was pretty minimal enhancements and thought I would probably give it a miss. Like many, I was expecting something with a ceramic bezel in the redesigned 42mm, kinda like the special Doha edition (v sweet!!!!)Fast fwd to beginning of April when they were launched. I got to view and try each one on (except for the white diver and new 44's). Same feeling, not impressed. I only thought the new blue dial with orange hands looked kinda sharp and sporty but still didn't really do much for me... It reminded me of the ROC blue and orange that came out a few years back but nothing more. However, little did I know that my subconscious was thinking the opposite. Long story short, I went back to the AD this past Monday to have a look at the new navy again. Well the rest is history! (darn you subconscious). Something in Lume Pearl?
Ok, is this even possible, something permanent in the lume pip pearl?Just picked up the watch from my AD today and here it is later in the day and I��m really starting to study it. I had noticed what I thought was lint or a thread on the pearl earlier today, but didn��t think much of it. Now home and trying to wipe it off and I think the sucker is somehow in the actual pearl. I��m happy to have been able to walk in and buy a Hulk, so it��s not going anywhere. I��m just surprised to see this thing. I want to keep rubbing away on it, but I don��t think it��s going anywhere.Ever seen anything like this?
