A pictoral overview of the Titanium SeaWolf
This watch amazes me more than any other in my collection. It is at the same time perfectly designed for functionality, legibility, strength and that incredible 3000m/10000ft water resistance and yet looks stunning. It cannot ever be considered a dress watch. There is nothing superfluous to this design and the components that make up the wonderful whole.With it's grey Titanium case and monochromatic dial/hands it is subtle, but with its 44mm and 20mm thick dimensions it is noticable. All too often oversized divers/sports watches can be a little overbearing and fatiguing on the wrist. Especially diminutive wrists such as mine. However, the use of Titanium for the case and the rubber strap means that this incredibly strong watch is actually comfortable to wear.As mentioned before this Titanium SeaWolf was meant to be a stop gap until I could afford the current Stainless Steel version. I had already been told by my AD that he would give me all of the money back on the Ti SeaWolf when I up

Patek models G (White Gold) vs P (Platinum)
Looking back over several years price list is appears that P models are 33% to 38& higher in price than G models. I used the 5146 for comparison. While there is a limited amount of precious metals in the case and workings given the historical pricing of gold and platinum this ratio seems plausiblen, until lately. From 2000 to 2007 platinum averaged about 1.8 times the price of gold. In 2008 they were equal, in 2009, 2010 platinum averaged 1.25, and in 2011 gold exceeded platinum. Given the sharp rise in gold is it likely Patek will raise G & J models more than P's or will P's ride the ever increasing price wave at the same ratio? Are P's that much more popular and do they tend to whole their value at the same ratio?

Just sold my Tag...
Just sold my Tag 2000 series watch that was a gift from the (now ex) wife. Needed the money and didn't want the reminder of who gave it to me. I replaced it with a Timex Expedition chronograph for $50. This watch is actually a lot more fun to wear than the Tag. I can actually see it at night with the built in light, and it doesn't die on me if I didn't move around enough during the day! And it does more than tell the time. :) I actually think something was wrong with the Tag, it didn't stay wound very well. I frequently looked at my wrist to check the time only to see it motionless. It was also impossible to keep the bezel from getting scratched to hell.I also have an Invicta that sadly is inop because the crown broke off. So, we'll see if the Timex can take a licking. Eventually I'd like to build a collection of mechanical watches because they are interesting, but for those of you just starting don't think that the more $$$ you spend the more you'll like the watch. Hell I like

Adventuring with the Diver
The Diver's popularity seems to keep growing here on the forum. I got mine in late April as my second AP (just three weeks after my Panda came into my life). It's a great go-anywhere kind of watch! After seeing Submarino's adventures I thought id share a trip I took with mine.I went to the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington State. Beautiful spot to relax and find a different kind of island experience. It's accessible only by ferry or plane. I took a De Havilland Seaplane! GMT 16710 and the "old" Rolex sport watches....
Hi,As discussed many times before, the prices on pieces like 16710 are high at the moment. Do you think that this is due to some kind of hype or is this a situation that we will see long term? The pieces that are more semi vintage like 16610 and 16710, what do you think will happen then the new generation of gmt's will be presented? Will the 116710 be the new 16710...?Speculations, but what do you think?
