Wyler 8.11677.046.2 wrist watches news:
We need a "People Who Should Be Beat Over the Head" Sticky. I manage a jewelry store, I see a lot of watches come through. Yesterday I handled an Omega Seamaster (65 era). The watch didn't work so I popped the case to see what was going on and the entire thing was packed with greese. Someone packed this thing like you would 4x hubs. Why would anyone in there right mind do something like this, and then refuse to have it cleaned/serviced. I realize that some people are not into watches. I'm not into cars, for the most part, but I still appreciate things for what they are...:mad:
Was surfing at Autoblog and they had this news about this Bovet designed by Pininfarina!Abosltely amazing as Pininfarina does with all its cars. Its the best of two worlds in one piece :DHope you like it ;)
My factoid of the Day (8-4-08) about a "Limited Edition" Oris - 2000 pieces - got me thinking about this topic again.I suppose in a global economy, a 2000-piece LE is a drop in the bucket. But it seems like a lot to me. And LEs were all the rage as a marketing gimmick a few years back. (Maybe, we've wised up) There seems to be fewer offerings. So what is really a limited edition, in your opinion.Invicta, for example, routinely produces "limited editions" of about 6,000 to 10,000 watches.Swiss Watch International, another TV retailer, produces limited editions of about 2500 pieces - 500 in each dial color for example.Bradley Time (now defunct) produced a 10,000-piece Donald Duck LE (which I own) back in the 1980s.Gevril GV2s are supposedly 500-piece LEs, too. But they just make a very slight change to the dial or something and crank out the same watch over and over again. My Clerc (black dial) is actually an LE of 199. But there seems to be a lot of 'em available (). However, the MOP dial
Was out walking back from dinner tonight wondering how well I could see the lume on my 15300. Turned out I couldn't see the lume at all but the white/silver dial easily caught and reflected very low ambient light from just about any source. Who needs lume when the whole dial catches and reflects light?
Went to the local AD to check out some Panerais. After selling my 312 which I found too too heavy, I thought I would check out the PAM535. It's a beauty. I also checked out the PAM351 and the PAM233. Both beautiful pieces but not sure if the 44m is for me though.Pics attached. Which one suits me??
