New Options for the Calibre de Cartier
Last year Cartier launched the Calibre de Cartier line powered by the brand’s in-house 1904-PS movement. The watch represented an important step for the brand. Despite the clearly sporty aesthetics, the Calibre de Cartier was available only on a strap. At SIHH 2011, a new and decidedly more sporting version debuted on a bracelet. Find pricing inside. The new models are available in stainless steel with black or silver dial, and in 18K rose gold and stainless steel with a silver dial. The bracelets feature wide polished center links and thinner brushed outer links with a deployant-style folding clasp. At 42mm x 10mm, the case dimensions have not changed. Thoughts on this 1939 Omega?
So, I'm still on the hunt for a vintage Omega. Thoughts on this one?Circa : 1939Price: $725.00 USDOMEGA - AUTOMATIC BUMPER WIND - in yellow gold top with stainless steel screw back. Original aged light cream color linen dial with gold Roman numbers and 12, 3, and 9 and gold cone shaped markers for the balance. Gold seconds hand at number six position. I found this watch but don't know if anyone can tell me about this one? Good deal? Feb. 1...what's your watch and your weather today.
Today is windy and snowy. -7 degrees Celsius. It sucks but we're going to get a foot or more snow tomorrow. Also, I think I'm going to wear a modern quartz Trent today. Somehow, I don't think this photo is going to win the banner contest.

Lesson learned
Well I managed to strip my crown tube on a First generation Gevril auto.I took it to a local jeweler. They're watch repair guy calls me and says he can not repair the watch because Gevril will not sell him the parts. So I go and pick up the watch on my lunch break. When I get home I notice the watch is not running. so I pull up the crown and the whole crown and stem come out of the watch. Mind you the watch was running fine prior to them "trying to fix it." All that was wrong with it was the crown would not screw down. So I finally find a number to gevril service center. 260 dollars for the repair. That includes a crown, tube, and screw barrell and winding mechanism. I call the local jeweler and tell them all this and of course the receptionist tells me they're watch repair man is a retired minister. So why would he lie? Well why would I lie? Regardless I priced this watch and can not find it for under 500. I will never again send a fine swiss watch to a hack.
