Zenith Zenith 19218 wrist watches news:
Last week I took my vintage GMT Master 1675 to my AD to send to Rolex. It has been about eight years and it was loosing time. Rolex called today with a price. $700.00 for the basic service $113.00 insurance both ways, and 6% PA sales tax. Would you believe they than recommended I replace the dial, hands and bezel for just another $735.00. They are faded. They don;t return ant parts they replace either. IMO it devalues the watch to replace all the above mentioned appearance items.
1962 Lord Elgin 30 Jewel Sel-Wind just back from service. If my info is correct, it was only worn until1968, then stashed away. This was part of a junk drawer purchase of four watches I bought a few years ago while "on the wagon" (not collecting) The others were pocket watches including a 18 Size Elgin Veritis from 1903 and a BWR from 1909.
Just got in a very nice pilot strap for the DC66 which I think works well. It's 5mm thick and lovely quality buffalo leather. I'm actually going to have to sell this one and order another as I ordered one a wee bit long for my wrist (150/80) but boy does it suit this watch?
Will Omega do a Seamaster for the 50th anniversary of the Bond films.
anyone buy the 5167 and regret it?
