Question about watch winding
I have a 2254.50 and I know that when you wind the crown in position one it is supposed to wind the watch. My question is why it does not cause the watch to start ticking when I do it after the spring has completely dissipated. In order to get it to start after it stops I have to wear it etc. It seems like winding it manually does nothing. Is this normal?

After restoring it, cleaning the movement, polishing the crystal and case, fitting a nice leather strap with the Longines logo, my cousin (son of the original owner of the watch) asked me to give the watch back, because it's a heirloom from his dad He didn't care for the watch, until he saw it restored and shining again :mad:At least, he returned the expenses So, I didn't even had time to take pics of the finished watchjust this for the memories...

Well, I have been a member of this forum for a few years and i have learned a great deal. In that time I have had a number fine watches pass through my hands, everyone was purchased with info obtained from members here just by reading posts, what an amazing resource. Each watch I purchased was absolutely what I wanted and on arrival it became my new favorite.
