A. Lange & Sohne 403.032 wrist watches news:
Ulysse Nardin has once again utilized the expertise of watchmaker Ludwig Oechslin ¡ª the creative mind behind the brand’s groundbreaking Trilogy of Time astronomical timepieces ¡ª? to launch an entirely new family of watches with innovative moon-phase complications called Classico Luna. The movement Oechslin and UN developed for the Classico Luna, Caliber UN-829, draws its inspiration from that of the Ulysse Nardin Moonstruck limited edition, whose hallmark was its realistic depiction of the moon’s rotation. The Classico Luna has a more streamlined, traditional look than the Moonstruck, with a slim case (in stainless steel or rose gold) and a silver or black dial with three Roman numerals (at 12, 3, and 9 o’clock) and simple, thin indices at the other hour positions. The date is in a small, round window at 6 o’clock. The watch’s most interesting feature is, of course, the moon-phase complication, which is displayed in a small, circular aperture that rotates ar
In honor of a new Alpina sponsorship that I could care less about comes a watch that I do care about. Apparently, this one is the first in a "Sailing Collection" of watches made for Sailing. This Chronograph model is a regatta timer - a first, I believe, for the Swiss brand. Regatta timers are used for helping sailors to carefully line up their boats with the beginning of a yacht race. They are, basically, modified 10 minute countdown timers. Unless you are sailing, they are pretty much useless for anything aside from imprecise 10 minute countdowns. The good news is that they are relatively diminutive on the dial and add a fun sense of color. Plus, you get to explain to people who don't own deck shoes what a regatta is.The chronograph is based on a modified SW500 automatic movement that is Sellita's take on the ETA Valjoux 7750. This one of the first times that I have seen it used and it is supposed to be a pretty nice movement. For at least the last few decades, yacht timers have ofte
The most dynamic, exciting Player I have ever seen play Ice Hockey in our city. It's indescribable how this guy use to jet around opposition Players back in the day. He carried our team to the 94 Cup Finals versus Scott's beloved NYR.What's the connection with Russian Watches? When he was in our city, he was always very private about his family's relations to EVERYTHING.Eventually it came out that his great grandfather was the famous Watchmaker to many VIPs. The negative side is that his family is also involved in the Russian mafia. Here is the Wiki article and if you do any google search for "Pavel Bure watches" you will find many great examples! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pavel_Bure
Hi all,I'd like to upgrade a few parts on my 5110, which is still rockin' the original strap/spring bars.Does anyone know what the correct size of quick release spring bars to buy for the 5110? My guess is 21/20mm, but wanted to triple check before buying. Also, I was thinking of swapping the deployant for a tang buckle. What is the correct tang buckle size? 16mm?I realize I'd have to buy a new strap to fit the tang buckle and was assuming the strap dimensions would still be 20mm lug and 16mm end. Hope that is also correct. Thanks for the help!
I know a groan is expected whenever someone brings up what their AD told them but I had a refreshing conversation last night that bears repeating.I have known my friend at the Houston Boutique since I bought my first watch from him in 1997 at the newly opened local Tourneau. Since then he's worked at three other local Rolex jewellers and has been at the Boutique since it opened.I called him two weeks ago and was surprised to find they had a BLNR in stock and bought it straight from its shipping coffin that night. Yesterday I went back just to chat and of course the subject of SS sport model shortages came up. His take was much less conspiratorial that what is usually said here. He simply said that Rolex projects their production needs several years out, a textbook business practice. The last few years have NOT been great for watch sales at least in the US, and they simply weren't ready for the increased demand this year. It will be remedied for next year he feels certain. He said their
