Breitling A1332016/G698-leather-blue-tang wrist watches news:
Someone recently asked me whether they thought pocket watches might come back in fashion. John and I spent time discussing this during an episode of the HourTime Show watch podcast and after giving it much thought the answer was a resounding "not likely." So why am I mentioning this before I discuss what is arguably one of the coolest pocket watches around? Because this pocket watch you see before you won't find a place in jacket pockets and be used to tell the time on a regular basis. It will be stored sweetly and safely and played with from time to time. The privileged few owners of these watches will still use a wrist watch as their primary (or at least secondary) means of telling the time. This and other pocket watches will merely be a collector's item. Possibly really cool collector's items, but still just that.Pocket watches are increasingly attractive for high-end brands to make as limited edition models because of collective nostalgia and size. Looks a little like a Vancott but it's not solid gold. The case back says "sweep second" but it has a 986 movement. I suspect it's a franken but any other opinions?VINTAGE HAMILTON 10K ROLLED GOLD WATCH - eBay (item 400233162932 end time Aug-08-11 16:05:13 PDT)

About a month ago I received a call from my AD that he got a watch in that I should see. He was going to have his X-mas party in a few weeks so I asked him to hold it for me. I have a 5711 blue that is supposed to be in shortly (Patek time so .......) Started a thread about having both and received mixed responses but when I saw it at the party knew I had to have it. Unfortunately it needed a link & a half so left it at the AD. Friday I received a call from AD the link arrived so picked it up Saturday. Some phone pics.
Hi allConsidering purchasing a new 005 but just heard from AD that movement will likely change to in house and list price will rise.Any truth in this?If the PAM 005 is switched to an in house movement does that mean the old movement 005s will take a serious hit? Like the look of this watch but don't want to have a dinosaur in a year or two.thanks!
