Watches tell the time, but they sometimes also tell us history. Filmmaker Benedict Campbell's short film "The Watch & The War" tells the story of Benedict Brucia, an American naval intelligence officer during World War II, and the origin of his very special watch – a 1938 Panerai Radiomir with a Rolex movement. As a young boy, Jim Brucia admired his uncle Ben's curious wristwatch. He ended up inheriting the watch in 1972, but never learned what his uncle did during the War. A Speedmaster Pro newbie question
From what I understand one of the differences between the 1861 and the 1863 in the sapphire sandwich is that the break in the 1861 is plastic and the break in the 1863 is metal. Is there any real drawback to the metal break? even though I have yet to try on the different models in person, I feel the sapphire sandwich is calling my name. My concern is giving up performance just so the movement will look prettier. Maybe I'm being to over analytical.Dave

Hope everybody here is much friendlier and doesn't gang up on you here for no reason as opposed to another forum we won't mention. It appears they like to ban, mock, and humiliate people for no good reason. I don't know if this is run by the same people but I will find out because I will be banned just for what I said.

Possible 5167 winding issues?
So, I've had my 5167 for just over a month now and i'm absolutely loving it! I just let the power reserve run out and thats when i noticed manual winding seems a bit odd. When i unscrew the crown i seem to have to spin the crown a couple times in the 12 o'clock potion before it catches and starts to wind. Normally i wind by spinning the crown in a 12 to 6 o'clock motion, but in this case as soon as you turn the crown in the 6 o'clock position the crown feels like it's free floating and you can spin it 3-7 times in the 12 o'clock position before you feel it stop at the winding gears. Hopefully i wrote this in a way you guys can understand. Is this normal with the 324 movement? or has anyone heard of this before? Thanks

Scratches on PCL clasp
Looking at getting a gmt I have other watches so it will be worn in rotation but will have more wrist time. How beat up does the polished centre on the clasp get get after a year or 2 that's the only thing that stops me from getting one. Thanks in advance
