A. Lange & Sohne 101.032 wrist watches news:
watches-dealer has teamed up with Teenage Grandpa to offer 30 limited edition hand-made, custom-sized straps exclusively for watches-dealer audience members. This includes three strap versions, with ten pieces per strap. Each buyer has the ability to choose the strap width (to fit the watch of their choice), as well as a few buckle options. These strap colors and designs will never again be offered to Teenage Grandpa customers after this limited edition sale. One of the big reasons we like watches is because we like things that are decorated, assembled, and overall done by hand. Hand-made things are rare these days and have somehow become a luxury given the relative deficit of skilled artisans in our society that can actually make 'stuff.' That is unless you want a hand-crafted spreadsheet. watches-dealer recently had the opportunity to showcase Teenage Grandpa's hand-made straps and interview the man behind theleather, Mr. Matt Smith-Johnson of Toronto, Canada. Hi, my name is Roger, I just joined this forum today and wanted to introduce myself vs. just start tossing out posts. I am very active in another forum for a hobby of 10 years now...that hobby being the collecting, restoring and displaying of miniature/vintage toy and model steam engines. It stems from getting one as a kid which I still have 50 years later. I also collect small blackpowder cannons and mortars and to a small extent have a diecast construction model collection. As a friend summed it up...I am finally buying all the toys I didn't have as a kid now that children are raised and I am enjoying retirement.I've gotten interested of late in manually wound and automatic wind wristwatches and pocket watches. Been doing a lot of cruising of the net for the past couple of months and as I type I'm wearing a basic Seiko 5 automatic day/date wristwatch which I quite enjoy...have wanted a Seiko for many years and finally did it...what was I waiting for, they don't cost all that muc
I'm completely new to Omega. Lately I've become interested in the sapphire sandwich speedmaster, either 3573 on a bracelet or 3873 on a strap. Love the watch itself, but having trouble getting excited about the Omega bracelet. Its probably just because its different than the Rolex oyster bracelets I'm used to, but its pretty likely that it will end up in the strap drawer. The croc strap seems nice, but I have some kind of phobia about single deployant buckles. I've never found them particularly comfortable or desirable.I see that 18mm Omega thumbnail buckles are readily available. Could I put a thumbnail buckle on the strap that comes with the 3873? Or would it be better to order a different croc strap that doesn't thin out at the end to accommodate the deployant? Does Omega make a strap for a thumbnail/tang buckle or has anybody had luck with another type of strap with a speedie? Thanks!
