A. Lange & Sohne 107.031 wrist watches news:
I think that the autumn colours match the colours on my GV quite well..
Hey guys !I just put the finishing touches on this 1918 Elgin "Black Star Dial" Trench Watch. It was in pretty bad shape when it first arrived a couple of weeks ago, neglected for many years obviously. The case is what peeked my interest when taking on this project. These cases are not extremely rare but they can be rather difficult to obtain in good condition. It is a sterling silver, semi-hermetic case with a coin edge bezel made by the Philadelphia Watch Case Company, first available in 1918.It still has the original oversized sterling silver factory crown and it features the more desirable 16mm lugs. Some MEATHEAD over the years did not know how to properly open the case so they just tried to pry it open and caused massive damage to the threading. The threading is much better now and most of the deep gouges have also been repaired. The case has been polished and now looks superb with most of the damage now gone. The grade 462, 1918, size 3/0s movement with 7 jewels has been completely over
I have 2 Hamiltons from Ca. 1936 I'm trying to restore but need some parts and/or good advice. I know asking for 75 year old watch parts is a little crazy, but I also know many of the good forum members have some pretty unusual stuff laying around. My first one is a 1936 Morley:As you can see, she has a nice black enamel dial, which I believe to be original. But as you can see in the 2nd photo, the case-back has a crack in the upper right hand corner. Also, after it recently came back from the watch doctor, the stem came out of the movement when I tryed to set it. My watch doctor said it was time to find a replacement movement. So I'm looking for a case-back and a 987-E movement for the Morley. My second is a Ca. 1936 Drake (got to love the Drake!). I also believe this has an original dial in good shape. The movement is also fine. But there's a fair amount of bassing to the high points of the bezel and the case-back is a mess. I'm wondering if anyone as a good case-back for the

To all the fellow Paneristi - long time lurker. I just experienced something that not sure has been well covered. For my first Pam 422, I purchased this through an AD, no issues, friendly service but got ripped off on price - I did get two free straps, a T-shirt and a key chain. But I overpaid by a good $2000 USD.Now for my newest addition Pam 590, I decided I would go gray market and save a ton of money. So I did and I thought there were no issues and did save a lot of money.Fast forward, it turns out that my 590 crown has problems in not being able to wind fully. Something is a-miss. I sent it back and it was fixed by the gray market seller - actually really fast. Same issue again, so this time I took it to a connection at the AD who had his expert take a peek as a favor. It turns out the 590 has had original Panerai parts substituted with generic servicing parts. My AD said this will be much more common as the MFGs take all of the movements made in house, limit parts distri
