A. Lange & Sohne 403.031 wrist watches news:
Nayla Hayek has been named chairwoman of the Swatch Group Ltd., succeeding her father, Nicolas G. Hayek, who died of heart failure at Swatch Group headquarters in Bienne, Switzerland on June 28. She was elected by a unanimous vote of the board of directors on June 30. Previously, she was vice-chairman of the board. The move is doubtless the transition that Hayek Senior wanted. It ensures that the management of the world¡¯s largest watch company remains in family hands. Nayla Hayek¡¯s brother, G. Nicolas (Nick) Hayek, succeeded his father as Swatch Group CEO in 2003. Hayek Senior had two children. The fact that they now hold the two most important posts in the company that he founded guarantees that the policies and vision he put in place will remain.Nicolas Hayek Senior controlled 40% of the shares of the Swatch Group through what is called ¡°the Hayek Pool.¡± The Hayek family is understood to now control those shares. Nayla Hayek has been a member of the Swatch Group board of directors si
This is my first post ever in this part of the forum since I ordered my first Glycine ever last night. It wasn't an impulse buy since I have indeed had my eye on it for 5-6 monthsbut it was one of those deals in which I made and offer an ended up a bit surprised that the seller accepted it. I'll give out a few hints before the big reveal later this week when I receive the watch. 1. It is new, not vintage or used.2. This watch is seldom seen on any of the forums. That was part of the appeal to me, that it's one you almost never see in anyone's "current rotation".3. It's large. That's it for now. Generic hints, I know, but good ones nonetheless if you follow Glycine. Any guesses?
I understand from Google that there are 4 grades of ETA 2824 movements. There is not a Tudor forum here and my question is which grade would go into a Tudor Prince, case size 34mm?All I know is that when I hold one of my Longines's 2824's up to my ear and shake it sounds like it's about to rattle apart. and my Tudor 2824 sounds much more quiet. If this is the wrong forum maybe the Moderator could move to the correct one?
Bought my first AP from SohAIS AIS Watches and am excited to get it tomorrow - Aamir has been great to work with! It's the ROO 25940SK.OO.D002CA.03 Black Dial. Quick questions for everyone:What watch winder do you recommend for the watch and the appropriate settings?Would you only get the watch serviced at the AP Boutique (I'm in NYC so lots of options)? What's the best way to clean the rubber band and also rubber bezel? The band is relatively cheap ($300) but not sure if AP replaces the bezel as well when serviced.Last question, promise - to ensure the watch is water proof and keeping accurate time do you recommend taking it to AP or a place such as Tourneau. AP said they'd need to send it out and it could take a few weeks.Best,Scott
Here is a picture of my aging but still reliable (other than the lume) constellation:When it is FULL charged it is fine.....but I find at night (even it still glow, it is really blurry, you can hardly see or cant even tell the time). Do I need to send it for a service?? Should go with the OMEGA service? or other watchmakers? How much do you think OMEGA will cost? Does OMEGA also polish the watch like ROLEX service?
