The excessively long name of this reference number 703.20.92 LC05 Fortis watch pretty much says it akk. This is among the most complex and expensive Fortis watches I have ever seen. Limited to just 100 pieces the F-43 is a tour de force in its own right. Is it a good watch for you? What is impressive is how the Swiss watch brand was able to get all of the indicators on the dial in a nicely balanced way. Suddenly having second thoughts - any suggestions?
Uh oh! I have had a Zenith as my grail watch for a while now and have started making moves towards acquiring one. But now that it is in sight I am suddenly getting a bit nervous about it! Is it the right one to buy now, or should I get something else now and keep the Zenith for later.Here's what I am thinking, the times that most watches get worn is at work, so if I don't wear a watch to work then it needs to be one that I would wear reasonably often outside work (makes sense, right?) But look how gorgeous the Zenith is! It is not exactly a casual watch, it is a real dress watch (I wear pants and a shirt to work, not a suit). If I didn't wear it to work it wouldn't get an awful lot of wrist time, which is a real shame. And the reason that I wouldn't wear it much at work is partly because it is so dressy, but also because it has a leather strap and my hands often get exposed to water etc. (not always submerged, but a real potential to get splashed etc quite often).So am I suddenly star

Sweep Second Hand
This might be a question that everyone but me knows the answer to, but I gotta ask anyway .......How many ticks per second does a sweep second hand do ?.......When I first got into mechanical watches again, ( can it only be 3 years now ?) I had a automatic, don't even remember the brand, but it had 30 jewels and the most elegant sweeping second hand I have ever seen ...none of the watches I have had since seem to sweep so stoplessly .....er....smoothly I guess better describes it .....I just recently got a Butex that has the seconds divided into 5ths of a seconds, but something I just read this morning tells me that jeweled watches pretty much go at that rate, even if the marked scale doesn't show it ......

Crazy week in England!
As some may know, about a year ago I decided to consolidate 3 of my 5 Rolex Sports for a 5711 Nautilus. I sold them around 1 year ago, put the funds into my savings account and patiently waited......Fast forward to last Friday, I happened to be in the UK and sadly still no sign of my Nautilus. To console myself I was lucky enough to pickup up a brand new sealed 5167A that was pre-arranged before my trip. After collection I dashed to the London Salon to get the strap sized and at the same time also picked up a khaki version for the upcoming summer. Love it to bits, especially the weight (or lack of it) and I think it’s the perfect size for my 7”ish wrist. On my penultimate last day in the UK I am rushing around London like a mad man picking up shopping for the mrs and kids to take back on the flight home. All this shopping is thirsty work so I pop into a pub off Oxford Street for a sneaky pint of Guinness and check my emails..... “I’ve got your 5711/1A h
