I'm considering with all the left had right hand and such that maybe I just might start wearing two watches at a time...in public. My limited research tell me that Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf and News anchor Brian Willams both wear two watches as did actor Rod Steiger.Seriously some folks have a reason to. I wonder who else does/did?(I can see why the Gen or a news anchor would.)
So, long story short, last year I finally added a 3570.50 to 16 year old SMP 300 diver. I really loved it... But not for a daily wear due to the lack of date and, to some extent, due to the relative fragility of the hesalite that marks quite easily. Also, I was not smitten with the daily manual winding. In a course of two months, the watch stopped at least a twice, whenever that had never happened to me over the previous 16 year. I thus decided to get a Rolex BLNR as it suits my daily lifestyle that includes overseas trips and also has historical relevance in aeronautics AND decided to sell the Speedy to my brother to enable him such a fine time piece.I love my BLNR... But I am starting to develop a (serious) itch to add back a Speedy pro in my collection. I am note sure if I should get another 3570.50 (or whatever the new reference number is with the large display case) or if I should aim for a serious vintage piece (ie, one with a cal. 321). May be even one that is a worthy limited e
Hey Team,So got to Vegas... saw the 5712 in SS... and as GORGEOUS as it is... didnt ROCK my world! I guess seeing as I have 3x other relatively nice SS Watches.. could be the reason. Tried on the ROSE GOLD 5980 and LOVED IT! BUT.... I think it was more the Rose Gold.. than the Chrono.. and cannot get past the $20k premium for a complication I'll never use.So I think its down to the 5712R... problem is NO one has it in stock to try on... so I guess my question is does anyone have one in the Vegas/LA Region to which I could try on? (From the boards) Happy to buy you lunch ect or a Dealer that might have one?The Other thing im tossing up is the full Rose Gold 15202 AP.. ultra thin movt... solid 18kt Rose Gold on the board here for $39k... Tried on the Black dial AP 41mm and it was nice.. but too big.. im sure the 39mm will be more my sizeSo yes.. thats my attempt.. throwing it out to the Boards.. if anyone has one I could see in the flesh before making this substantial investment!Cheers G
Hi Fellow TRF PaneristisI bought a PAM 164 (Luminor marina) last year and thought that was the last watch I shall purchase for a while. But now I have been afflicted with the Paneristi addiction and have my eyes set on a Radiomir. Since I spent a good $ 7.7k on the PAM 164, I wanted to get a new Rad within a decent price limit. The one that was piquing my interest was a PAM 380. Plain, simple, nice black seal logo and at a relatively decent $ 4.5k. Only issue I see is the manual wind (56h power reserve) which I am still not too used to as all my other watches are automatics. Any thoughts on PAM 380 or any other Rads within a $ 5k price limit? I plan to be buying the Rad in the UK this summer, so any leads on any good dealers and discounts on new PAMs would be highly appreciated.
