How far to go with servicing and restoration?

He is now turning 65, so I'm thinking of maybe making it a surprise "gift" for his birthday, by getting it serviced and restored.A few points: The watch still runs, both by rotor-winding and by hand-winding. It seems to be running slow by 7 seconds in 6 hours; You should be able to spot some corrosion on all three hands in the second picture; maybe my father has worn it to our family business factory, which uses all kinds of chemicals; so the corrosion may be a result of chemical fumes, I don't know. To cut a long story short, I was in Puerto Banus the other day and spotted a ROO Bucherer edition (one of my favourites) on someone and wanted to mention to them my admiration however I thought it may come across as rude.
