Help needed on tritium
Hi Friends,As some already know I have just acquired a Rolex Gmt Master II.The model was produced in 1996 (T series), before superluminova was used; in this case tritium was used. I expected it to still light up a bit, since I read somewhere that the half life of tritium is 12.3 years. However, there is absolutely no glow whatsover on the markers.Any idea as to why there is no more glow? Lume isn't really that important to me unless I'd be trapped somewhere in the dark of night, but it is comforting to know that there is some.Any tritium owners or anyone knowledgeable who could care to shed light on this? It's been bugging me quite a bit (just a little though). If the watch is 13 years old there should be some kind of glow, shouldn't there?Kind regardsClarence

Got a Father's day gift for my dad
I fell in love with this watch the moment I saw it at the AD a few days ago. The price (about 100 USD) was also great. So yesterday I got it as a Father's day gift for my dad. Of course he doesn't have the slightest hint. I'll keep it alongwith his other watches a night before. I hope he likes it. Its a Seiko 5 automatic, all SS with the tried and tested 7s26 movement. While I like everything on the watch, the quality of the metal bracelet isn't what I thought it would be. I had heard a lot about Seiko's lume and saw it for the first time while taking the lume shot. Its clearly the best I've ever seen (my dad's seiko kinetic premier perpetual calender doesn't have lume). While swinging the watch to start it, I noticed a sound coming from the movement, could it be the magic lever? Is it something to worry about? Overall, I can think of very few other watches in this budget which would have satisfied me. I just hope my dad likes it. I'll let pics do the rest of the talkingPS- A big than

My new/used 112 :)
I just got an awesome deal on a 112 from a buddy of mine who has a jewlery store and was drumming up cash for some stones...I must say it is growing on me and I kinda love it...I was wearing my Navitimer every day and my wife wanted it so now she is wearing it. Can you guys give me some insight on winding this watch. I haven't had a manual wind since I was a kid and it was obviously a junker.Seems it needs wound about every day and a half and I am also worried abt over winding it....any thoughts guys?Thanks-Navitimer (now wife's)-Rolex GMT II-now a Pam 112 :)
