Query why watches stop on watch winder?
Hi all. I have 20 watches, of which I regularly rotate 6 of them at any one point of time on my 6 watch winders. That way, I can easily put on a different watch each day without needing to manually wind each one up. However, I have noticed that at least 4 of them grind to a complete stop when left on the winder indefinitely. Logic and past experience tells me that the watches should remain working when left on the winder; afterall, that's the whole point of having a winder, isn't it. I have also ruled out that it is the winder that is at fault, because my other watches do not suffer this problem when left on the same winder for any length of time. So, I'm assuming that it must be the watches. FYI, the watches are an Oris TT1 Chrono, IWC Aquatimer Chrono, Longines Admiral Chrono and an Omega Schumacher Legend Speedmaster Chrono.Does anyone have any idea as to what could be wrong? Seiko Newbie
Just purchased my first Seiko watch, model #SNA749 Sportura Honda F1 Racing, I saw one of these last year in Raleigh NC while there visiting family, tried it on and fell in love with it. I couldn't get this watch out of my mind and actually drove 4 hours back to raleigh to visit and maybe get the watch, no luck, it was gone.Well I kept looking on the web and found one on ebay last week for $325.00 on a buy it now, new with all the papers, I can't wait to get it!

What's the deal with leather strap sizes on vintage watches?
It seems that every vintage watch I have, I need to wear it on the very last hole, and even then they're a little tight until they form to my wrist. After that, I can sometimes move it to the second hole, but not with all of them.Is it because people put new bands, which are made for watches of today's case size on much smaller vintage watches?Is there a source anybody can recommend for slightly longer bands? I'd like to be able to tuck the end of the band under both the stationary and sliding holders or whatever they're called I can usually only tuck it under the one that's right next to the buckle.
