Panerai PAM371 wrist watches news:
Evening gents. I am weighing a purchase and wondering about the risks.I am looking at a used watch purchase from a holder on another continent. The watch looks like a decent value but is certainly not a one of kind opportunity, if I'm willing to wait. But the watch looks good and includes all the right stuff. Assuming the good will and honesty of the seller is established, would you still hesitate on an overseas purchase because of risks like duties or collecting on the insurance should an international package go missing, or other risks I haven't anticipated? How would you look at weighing such a purchase decision?thx,Brad
hi, I'm very curious about this issue. I hope you guys can help me put it to rest one way or another. I got the Longtines over Christmas during cruise, in St. Thomas (Royal Carribean Watches). Love it because it looks so distinguished. But I've since felt that it wasn't keep time that well, so I finally got down to study it last week. I synch'ed it with the online atomic clock "time.gov/" to the very second. Made sure it's fully wound (turning the crown many times). About 5 hours later I checked with the site again, the watch already lost 2 seconds. In 3 days it lost about 1 minute. I know it won't be as accurate as a quartz movement but I would expect it to be more accurate that that! My co-worked has a Tag chrono (apologize for the implication here if it offends anyone, but it just so happened that he has a Tag automatic chrono) and he said he never had to adjust the time in his several years of wearing it.Can you help me understand the right level of expectations as far as accuracy
What makes your watch or your dream watch consider as a tool watch ( in your opinion) ? I understand that everybody of us might have different criteria according to everyone's jobs, activity, sports etc. I'm sorry if this has been posted before.. but I think it would be very usefull for any WIS who are currently thinking of purchasing "a tool watch" ..All the bestPete J
Himy family and I are off to thailand in just under 2 weeks time and although its not my first time to the land of smiles I am trying to get some more accurate info on where to source some original pieces.Couple of years back I went into one of the enormous shopping malls in Bangkok and there were a couple of vintage vendors.Last year unfortunately they were gone same as all the other residents due to the riots and subsequent fires.I love to buy watches but am also happy just to look and admire.I was fortunate however to walk into another mall and they had a watch expo going on with all the manufacturers I could think of and twice as many I had never heard of!Firstly we will be in Hua Hin so if anyone knows any shops, stalls markets etc then please let me knowbefore I return home I have 2 days in Bangkok.I am sure I read once there was a market selling vintage watches in or around bangkok but know no more than that .If someone out there has first hand experience of this then spill the b
